Last week we had some guests from the Building Trades came to speak to the students where I teach about the process for joining and what the work is like. I appreciate CTWI, Plasterers, and Painters coming out and meeting with all our seniors to talk about it!

38 to 60 days sooner. That matters.

A recent 2026 study of 128 public works projects found that projects led by union-signatory prime contractors were associated with completion times 14% to 22% faster, or roughly 38 to 60 days sooner.
That means schools open sooner. Roads and infrastructure get delivered sooner. Communities get the projects they paid for sooner.

A skilled, trained workforce isn’t something that slows construction down. It helps get the job done.

“How much money can you make in glass?” 💰 Window into the future!
Last week at GlassBuild America 2026 in Vegas, I sat on the “See Yourself in Glass” panel speaking to 250 local high school students from Clark County.
When they asked about earnings, I pulled out the real numbers from District Council 16:
🔹 1st Year Apprentice: $24.30/hr base | $37.97/hr total package (zero college debt)
🔹 Journeyman Glazier: $60.76/hr base | $91.23/hr total package
🔹 Glazing Superintendent: $69.87/hr base | $100.34/hr total package
The next generation of glaziers is sharp, ready, and asking the right questions. The future of our trade is in good hands! 🛠️📐 #glaziers @clarkcountysch @nationalglassassociation @glaziersiupat @dc16iupat #construction #glassbuildamerica2026
