So grateful for this beautiful little pocket of magic. So many deep connections, so many hours completely drowning in bass, soaking in the hot tub right next to our camp, dancing until my body had nothing left, all the cuddle puddles, and laughing until my face hurt.

But more than anything, it was the people. The conversations that went so deep. Laughing and crying together. Meeting strangers that immediately became family. Those rare connections where you just know these humans are going to be a part of your life for the long haul.

I love how quickly we can become family when we give ourselves permission to be weird, open, playful, vulnerable, safe, and fully alive together. This secret burn party did not disappoint!! 🔥

My heart is overflowing.

Thank you for holding me. This week was the hardest experience my heart has ever experienced & I couldn’t have done it without you. I love each and everyone of you with my whole heart. And if I didn’t see you, it’s not because I don’t love you and you aren’t extremely important to me, I was hanging on by a thread this week and my normal planning skills were definitely offline. Next time, promise I’ll see everybody. 🙏🏽

One year ago, Hurricane Helene brought devastation to Asheville and amongst many lives, homes and creative spaces, and also left Marquee in ruins, and was felt deeply across our community.

But out of the storm, resilience bloomed. Together, we rebuilt.

Today, @marqueeasheville stands not just restored, but reimagined, a beacon of creativity and connection. ✨

We at @hausofmystery are honored to be part of this return, bringing light, wonder, and imagination back into a space that means so much to us all! More to come, stay tuned ✨👀💚🌈✨

What an insane year. Last year on my birthday, we got the first news announcements about Hurricane Helene, that launched us into months of disaster relief. Finances pushed us into multiple hard career changes and a move across the country that ultimately led to the discovery of my life’s mission @joyfulsummitsrtc. Post-Helene trauma responses pushed @rowdyreid into the discovery of our neurodivergence, and into the deep hard parts work together and individually. EVERYTHING in Utah is different so the learning curve landing out here in truly every way has been really freaking hard. And then just when we thought maybe we were free, Reid’s medical stuff took us for a month and a half really scary ride.

For the first time in my life I am able to fully emote and express every part of me and am fully seen by community. Dance, somatic experiencing, and the work I am doing has been life changing in every way for me. I am so grateful for Reid’s family @wooleynana and @wendellwoolsey and sibling system who we couldn’t have done all of this without the support of and an extra shout out to @faith_nicole_mccrory and @laur_taur_ for being there for me constantly. MAN and @suzy_stardust_ and @daemon_paints, friendship with you brought light, clarity, and such a powerful mirror into Reid and I’s life and you quickly have become our best friends and we couldn’t do this without the safe space you have cultivated for us, thank you sincerely. To my dear darling best friend @ecosoulcraft, your Marco Polos keep me sane and I am so fortunate to have someone in my life who can see and meet me and relate on every single level. To my consistent and incredible best friends @velvetelven, @cassidyeames, and @_chriskerry—thank you 🥹 And to @emer603 my platonic partner, thank you for teaching me how love is supposed to feel, thank you for ALWAYS listening, and for our daily good morning texts—you mean the world to me.

I have learned a TON but my main takeaway from this year is that healing is not remotely linear no matter how I try to make it that way & sometimes things don’t work out the way that you want them to and that’s okay because it clears space for exactly what’s meant for me.

Well we weren’t quite ready to quit you Asheville—Ruby (my camper) is set up for the long run out at my second home Wonderland Farm where the other 1/3 of my heart that doesn’t live in Ogden and Denver with my babes live. Working on getting a renter in there & my goodness @ecosoulcraft & @dcavnar and all the beautiful souls out at the HeeHaw work party this weekend have crushed some changes to the farm. It’s somehow even more beautiful, what a world.

We were hopeful to come out here in April & spend time with all of you humans we love and adore so much—unfortunately finances, necessity, & logistics ended up being this trip. We’ll be back don’t worry, the universe has this magical way of making your wildest dreams come true when you lean into your full truth & purpose and having a forever Asheville spot is one of those for Reid & I.

We love you all more than words can express. We love this land, we love this city, & we love our people. @the.wandering.swordsman & @_chriskerry thank you for coming out to see us, we love yall big ❤️ @dannyknowles123, @andrew_the_gardener, & @abundant_alchemist it was soooo nice to get spend a night with you all when we landed on the farm—you are all 🤌🏽

Shouts out to my man @rowdyreid the packing legend, infrastructure guru, moving massive intense trailers into weird places genius, and love of my goddamn life. I’m gonna marry the shit out of you, you capable badass you 🥵

Life is so good. Till next time ✨

August 2, 2024 | Reception 🥂

We had a pre-dinner dance parties, cardboard cutout at the photo booths, the best speeches by our loved ones, incredible food and all the joy. The room truly was filled with so much energy from all the love circulating, it was overwhelming.

Almost through all the content - thanks for sticking with us 😂

Where to start… 🤔

The last time I tattooed was September 20th, over a month ago. Hurricane Helene hit on Sept. 27th and we have been navigating the new reality we live in since then.

Life continues, one day at a time.

And with it, I am beginning to schedule tattoos out here at the farm again, in between taking care of my own needs, building a life with my partner, caring for the kids and the farm, and being in service of those recovering from this disaster.

This tattoo, on the leg of my badass, passionate, driven, brilliant, hilarious, adventurous, sassy, at times intense 😳, multifaceted partner Christina, took us over a year to complete. She asked that I do something in “my style”, so one night I set up for a tattoo and drew on the design with sharpies, including four “words” using symbols that come through my brain and fingers and into the world.

These words represent Power (on her foot), Elegance (on her shin), and Joy (on the back of her calf). The poppy - which we discovered represents all of the passions we both hold in our lives - has the word Commitment symbolized.

Christina, my girl, we’ve been together 17 months now, and we have truly been through Hell and High Water.

And here we stand - stronger as both individuals and a unit, more certain than ever that we can navigate whatever life presents to us.

Thanks for your trust, your support of my artistic expression, and your fiery love ❤️‍🔥🥹🌱

One thing this disaster has taught me is just how good it feels to limit my use of social media, so I’m changing how I do bookings and will only be checking IG a few times a week.

If you are interested in booking an appointment, email me - talldavetattoos@gmail.com

I check my email daily :)

I look forward to connecting and hearing what vision you’d like to bring into this world!

Be kind, friends! We’re all in this together.

Team Hurricane trauma does Fred Again…or tried @ least 😅 swipe to the last picture to see how it actually felt to be in Atlanta. Turns out big cities, normalcy, & drum/bass music actually is not restful but more traumatizing to the nervous system post-natural disaster. We were genuinely relieved to hear sirens back home in the camper. How wild is that? Reminders that this is a major T trauma—reach out if you need mental health resources, I got em.

One more day of rest & then back to the community work grind. #wncstrong

Love you guys with my entire heart.
