In accordance with El Plan de Aztlan, The Raza Services 6th Annual Toy Drive has begun! Boxes have arrived and we will be announcing the various places you can drop toys off! Please help share the flyers! The Venmo on each flyer goes directly to that community. Toy distributions should be organized in every barrio and we hope that people will feel inspired to keep this going annually in each respective community. If you want to volunteer in a specific community or help host a box please let us know! Todo por la Raza! Flyer done by @ddoncamaticc

Yesterday was a day I never saw coming, it was all a thought in conversation, then my daughter Sophie talked to me about the idea and I sat with it and asked a couple folks what they thought, then I asked Patricia if it was something we can do and she said of course friend! My face lit up when I saw both of my girls names on the flyer… Sophie & Mia (@ddoncamaticc ) And I saw both pieces hanging on the wall in the exhibition 🥹 Then I was able & fortunate to watch my daughter Mia (half of @de.mictlan.cafe ) make coffee & serve guests their coffee with specialized sauces that she made as I was at my own table vending & serving Tamales to guests. My son stopped by to support our show and all the vendors as well We had a Tamal contest too! That was so much fun! It was nice to see the participants in anticipation, the judges try different tamales & being able to gift an award to the contestants truly made it special It’s all I’ve ever wanted in this tumultuous life ~ for my children to live joyous & peaceful lives, for them to enjoy every single day and all that makes their heart happy. To make beautiful lasting & meaningful memories, to know what it is to help others and to enjoy community I think yesterday at Hojas de Maiz, not only did I witness and feel it, but I know my children did as well It makes my heart happy & filled with joy to see them bloom and spread their seeds Thank you @yvette_roman for the idea in conversation with Sophie, Thank you Sophie for having a conversation with me, Thank you @tekpatl.irmapatricia for saying yes and all your help not only for the show but for all that you’ve done for us and for our community, Thank you @aztlanlibre & @galeria.moran619 for always having a welcoming and safe space for us all 🫶🏼 Always remember to do what you love, share your talents with the world you never know who needs them, help your community prosper & always support our youth because they are our future 🙏🏼

xMAPALx - multi medium Quemos pastel- spray paint Thank you to the homie DDoncmatic for allowing me to be apart of their first ever solo show, it was a honor to be able to help out and make a piece for this show. The MAPAL is made out of a; spiked ball piñata, foam and duct tape. It took a lot of tape and spray paint, thank you mi.arte333 for helping me paint the handle really bringing it together. Would definitely revisit this project. The clown pants stand was lowkey just a random idea I though would be dope n simple, shout out vanessa for the idea and help putting on the glitter that shit made it like 100 times better fr. Looks really good in the sun. Thank you everyone else that helped me make these projects. Much love. -shells xMAPALx - multi medium Quemos pastel- spray paint Thank you to the homie DDoncmatic for allowing me to be apart of their first ever solo show, it was a honor to be able to help out and make a piece for this show.
