My studio, my sanctuary, my clubhouse, my cherished home away from home.
I never knew how much a structure filled with community could help mold you into a person you didn’t know or expect you could actually become to be.
The ways I’ve grown not only as an artist but as a person since moving into this space in 2018 the girl then would not recognize herself now in a big and beautiful way.

I started WhiskeyDog in 2008, so before moving into this studio, I had always worked within tiny bedrooms or porch rooms even a ping pong table in a communal space at the farm I lived on.
During that time I always dreamed of having a studio space outside of my home but never felt I could obtain it and afford it.
I moved to Marshall in 2015 after loosing my soul dog, going a bit crazy and selling everything I had back home in Florida and moved here to be closer to my sister @thesirenco
The first time I saw Marshall high studios I wanted in, I was a cat in the rain scratching at those enamoring large windows begging to get in. It seemed to be everything I had always dreamed an art studio could be. The 100 year old brick school building on an island in the middle of a river filled with other people who make art too!? That was the dream and I got lucky, Rob read my emails and gave me a shot upstairs in studio 207. Here I am almost 7 years later and couldn’t be more in love with @marshallhighstudios and the people that it’s made up of. I couldn’t be more proud of younger Emily for taking a chance on herself and hopping over that terrifying hurdle and getting herself here.
