5/26/25: final day in northeast Ohio. @sneakywit1 and I was so exhausted that we aren’t in mood for hiking. So we decided to go on scenic railroad for Cuyahoga Valley. I only saw the half of the scenic viewing and it’s 1 1/2 hour long! It was nice way to close the vacation on Memorial Day weekend. After the scenic railroad, we made quick stop at Ashland to have lunch at Perkin’s and check out Grandpa’s Cheesebarn and Sweeties Chocolate. It was nice small local market full of cheeses, chocolates, and snacks. I will love to try their food someday when I drive on I-71 again.

5/25/25: Edgewater Park and Cuyahoga Valley National Park

1-5: Edgewater Park- it’s beautiful park on edge of Lake Erie where we can see Cleveland downtown (only like 5-10 minutes drive from downtown). This park have various activities including walk on trails, fishing, swim on the beach, watching the lake, and many more! I will love to come back and explore more.

6: West Side Market- I know the picture isn’t best, I was overwhelmed by how huge this place was! This place have all local shops for all types of food including fruit, vegetables, meats, bakery, and many more! I stayed for bit then left because it’s too crowded for me.

7-9: The Haunted House Restaurant- I always saw videos for this restaurant on social medias so I wanted to check it out. I came during brunch hours so I ended up had dessert like breakfast which is fried French toasts with custard, bananas, and whipped cream. They are pretty good, but nothing special. I don’t mind trying their dinner menu tho.

10-15: Sarah’s Vineyard- my favorite stop in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, I love wines and try local wineries. I found this place on website so i decided to come here. I am glad I did because their wines and food are amazing! I will definitely come back here when I visit the park again!

16-19: Brandywine Waterfall at Cuyahoga Valley National Park- I finally visited this famous waterfall of the park. I see it on my National Park of the USA water bottle all times. The waterfall is enormous and beautiful! But I prefer Hocking Hill’s waterfalls 😅 i will love to come back and explore Cuyahoga Valley National Park again because I had a feeling that I missed so many hidden gems.

5/24/25: University Circle/Little Italy Day

1: Fountain of Life

2-5: Lakeview Cemetery- Haserot Angel is one of well known haunted status in Cleveland. The cemetery is huge so there’s so many graves and some tombs. The cemetery is so big that @sneakywit1 and I can’t find the Haserot angel statue (picture #2) for good 30 minutes before gave up and went to the office, where we found the map of the cemetery 😅.

6-9: Presti’s Bakery in Little Italy- @sneakywit1 and I got hungry after hunted for Haserot angel, so we decided to visit Little Italy. Little Italy is the alley that is full of Italian restaurants and shops. We decided to try Presti’s Bakery after walk passing it. Their food we had is so delicious. I will love to drive two hours just for this place. I had some pasta with chicken, iced vanilla latte, and tiramisu while @sneakywit1 had Stromboli, egg salad, and German chocolate cake. We walked down the Little Italy for bit, there’s so many restaurants there so I will definitely want to try them someday.

10-12: Cleveland Museum of Art- I have so many pictures that it’s hard to choose while show another locations we went on that day. So I chose few best pictures I have from this museum. This museum is pretty nice but not best. At least the admission is free. I saw couple cool exhibits including ancient Egypt, Greek, catholic, Asian, and many more.

13-15: Lake Erie at Downtown- when I reserved the hotel, I thought the hotel will be right next to the lake. Turned out it’s 15-20 minutes walk from our hotel. The view is still beautiful tho. Hall of Fame: Rock and Roll museum is near to Lake Erie in downtown.

16: Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument- the memorial site to honor soldiers and sailors for their sacrifices for the country. Perfect site to stop by for Memorial Day in Cleveland downtown

17-18: Museum of Illusion- small museum all about illusions that play trick to your mind

19-20: East 4th Street- it’s small alley where there’s various types of restaurant and bar to choose and experience nightlife. We went to Blue Agave, the Mexican restaurant, that’s where the skull (picture 20) is. Their food and margaritas are pretty good!

5/23/25: quick stop at Mansfield and Bellville as I went on road trip to Cleveland with my childhood friend.

1-15: Ohio State Reformatory (OSR)

It’s my second time visiting OSR. Last time I went was 3 years ago. They opened new areas for me to explore which are solitary cages and west wing area. This place is one of most haunted places in the America. So this place has very dark history along with high paranormal activities, especially during nighttime. I definitely want to do paranormal hunting there someday.

OSR originally established to reform inmates who are too old for juvenile corrections, but committed minor offenses compared to inmates that sent to Ohio State Penitentiary, and see if they behave well for 18 months. If they are doing good, they can be released but if they don’t, they stay in the prison.

Overtime the prison converted into maximum security facility. It led to overcrowded, unsanitary place for inmates to stay, enough to the point inmates sued and won the lawsuit against the state of Ohio. OSR finally closed in 1990. Before it was planned to demolish, the movie called Shawshank Redemption decided to use OSR as the location to film. After the movie, OSR became into the museum we know today.

15-20: Buckeye Express Diner in Bellville, about 20 minutes drive south from OSR. This place is great restaurant to stop by for road trip or before/after visit OSR and Mansfield. I highly recommend to stop by this place if you drive on I-71 between Columbus and Cleveland!
