From the rich music history to the people that inhabit it. Detroit is just different and you can feel that. Glad to make it back out here another year and be around chosen family 🔊

We’ve detected unidentified transmissions from the Land of Jack. Please report to @sunscinema 6/13 at 9:30pm. This is not a drill. This is not a drill!

Coming in from NYC we have @sweater.on.polo , here to deliver a hardware live set capturing the true spirit of 80’s House. His sound is futuristic and psychedelic, with references to the atmospheric disco of New York, old school jack styles of Chicago, and more. Local fav @etherpleaser will close the night out with a special small-room set featuring deep house, hard drum, and sultry club tracks. @deanraymond01 is trekking out from Chicago for a b2b with @nik__olo to kick it off.

Don’t forget your uniform.

More details and presales ($15/$20) available at sunscinema.com 👾

As warm weather returns, we are excited to bring you our first day party at @gramaphonerecords ahead of the Clipper on 05/08. We will be welcoming talented local heads Slowerson, and Dean Raymond, who are sure to rock the tables.

Slowerson is a seasoned veteran of the Chicago dance scene, having played numerous events across the city for well over ten years. He has played many warehouse events, as well as the legendary Podval. While he is often seen at underground dance events, many know him from his impressive 15-year residency at the iconic Murasaki Sake Lounge in the loop and his many sets at Morseland. Most recently, he has been featured on M50’s etc radio. We are excited to bring this Gramaphone Alumni and his sound back into the store.

After moving to Chicago, Dean Raymond cycled through several inconsequential jobs at WHPK 88.5 FM before becoming station manager. He now runs Spare Parts at the California Clipper. He likes hardware-driven mid-tempo dance music with rubbery basslines, psychedelic textures, and a punk/DIY ethos.

Additionally, Antic residents Nate T and QTC will be doing sets utilizing solely store stock, meaning every record we play will be available for purchase.

This party is completely free. For your minimal listening pleasure…

A SHOW SO GOOD I HAD TO MAKE A SECOND FLYER but also there’s some additions to the line up :) . The Xpressionists (this time as a trio) will feature James Chazz (of Nu Vision) on Alto Sax. Duke Cooper (of Nu Vision) will be displaying vinyl Artifacts before and after all the bands. The Ineffectuals are also putting together new material for their first live performance of 2026. It’s going to be a whale of a time. This is the Chicago tour date of KILYNN LUNSFORD who is a New Jersey based artist who builds songs from errant sounds and pummeling textures. She’s been playing in experimental-punk projects for 25 years and has released music on Kill Rock Stars, Ecstatic Peace, Not Not Fun, Siltbreeze and ever/never. Her art has been exhibited internationally and has been published by JABS, Penny-Ante Press and Witchhammer Press (NZ). Her band begins their midwest tour next week!
