I’ve received hundreds, if not thousands, of messages, DMs, and comments since I shared my story earlier this week, and I cannot thank each and every one of you for all of your support.

This right here has been the number one question I’ve received, and so I wanted to make sure to walk you guys through the timeline of how my diagnosis happened.

For as long as I’ve been getting mammograms, I’ve had to watch certain spots, go back for ultrasounds, or even come back every six months.

✔️January: I had my annual exam with my OB/GYN, and due to my dense breast tissue classification of Class D, she suggested that I get a baseline MRI. The earliest I could book an appointment was July.
✔️March: I had my annual mammogram, and for the first time ever, it came back clean. They told me they would see me in a year.
✔️July: I went for the MRI that I had booked in January. That was when they found the spot, and they suggested that I have an ultrasound-directed biopsy.
✔️Early August: They could not find the spot on the ultrasound and therefore couldn’t conduct the biopsy. They ordered an MRI-directed biopsy.
✔️Late August: MRI directed biopsy
September 1: I got the call that. Had stage 0 breast cancer.

I’m sharing all of this because if it helps one woman get ahead of this, then it is worth it. I had choices because this was found early, so please don’t put off your annual exams and tests, and please talk to your doctor about what is right for you.

I’m sharing all of this in greater detail on my podcast all month. Comment OCTOBER and I’ll send you the link.

Disclaimer: this is my personal story, my own lived experience. I’m sharing it as a reminder of the importance to have our annual exams and to advocate for your own medical health. This is not advocacy for any particular treatment. If you have a medical diagnosis of your own you must consult your own doctors or medical team, this is not to be considered medical advice.
