We asked the questions. We shared what we know. We challenged ideas. We made connections. And somewhere between the stage, the hallways, and the conversations in between, GloryLand Year 2 became exactly what we hoped it would be.

A place to learn the art world with the people living it.

Whew! I’m finally getting time to recap from a weekend full of art. Last week, I flew to Houston to join @moriahalisee for Gloryland 2026. I discovered her YouTube channel a few years ago—which now stays in rotation as I’m working in the studio. But last weekend, I had to step away from the canvas to be in the room with her and 11 other change agents/leaders in the art world. Within the first 10 minutes of the first panel, I knew I made the right decision by going. I left Houston with more knowledge, answered questions, and valuable connections. Now it’s time to put all those things into practice as I’m developing this new series….and beyond.

Thank you again Moriah for your commitment and contributions to the art world! Words really cannot capture the important work you’re doing with @deargloryworld. Just know what you and your team are building is absolutely necessary for all of us to succeed in the art ecosystem. So thank you! ✨

We spent time at Untitled Art, Houston with PaperCity, walking the fair, experiencing the work, meeting galleries, and taking in the energy surrounding art in Houston right now.

We stopped by Library Street Collective, Kavi Gupta, and RÉFUSES - just a few of the galleries bringing incredible work to Houston this week.

Untitled Art, Houston runs October 2–4 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, so if you’re in the city this weekend, go experience the fair. See the work in person. Talk to the galleries. Meet the artists. Find something you love.

Three to watch in Houston.

Dee Dwyer returns to The Offering after both of her photographs were collected in June. The National Gallery of Art paired her practice with Dorothea Lange's, and in Houston she brings Solitude and Black Joy.

Estéban Whiteside brings Democratic Erosion, seven panels and one argument, in the language he calls Concrete Oppressionism: hard truths in childlike forms.

Kaima Marie Akarue brings two analog collages built from the porch, the block and the people who hold a neighborhood together. "The porch been talkin'" gave Friday night its name.

All fifteen Selections are live with Buy It Now at swainsauction.com until Saturday, when bidding opens. Bidding closes October 10. The room opens Saturday, October 3, 6 to 9 pm, at 2625 Colquitt Street, Houston. Free and open to the public.
