People that know me will roll their eyes/ laugh/ say “WTF are you doing?”

In all honesty I want to be strong in and out all over my body. Ever in an emergency? I want to be the guy you can count on!!

All this work was inspired by my good friend @steevee_maadeen which is awesome at BJJ. The doctors told me no contact sports that doesn’t mean I can’t train like it. Also sir I have a Rotti and a Cane Corso idk they still my destroy us in some tug o war 💪🏽

Also @deadliestlift and @billmaeda inspired me to purchase a @deathgripstrength mouth piece. (Which everyone needs to get)

I want to not only strengthen my jaw but also neck muscles

Don’t knock it til you try it

DM or comment ‘STRONG AF’ and let’s get to stop making those excuses and start to change

While this may seem like a gag.. I will never lose to a dog in tug of war, while simultaneously carrying a large grown man to safety, and securing a family of 6’s groceries in the other hand.

Will that transfer, I’d say so 🤷‍♂️

DM me “COACH” if you want to improve your grocery carrying abilities

I used to worry about my neck. It was long and thin and I would get choked out in training constantly. When I was 15 a teacher told me I’d never succeed in martial arts because of it. So I began training it desperately. I researched all kinds of neck training, from boxers, wrestlers, F1 drivers, circus strongmen, and Shaolin monks, I studied and practiced their methods until I was so proficient in the basics that I could perform these feats of strength. Even though I’ve long grown out of my dreams of being a prizefighter, I’m still glad I spent time on this training, because it showed me what’s possible.

A few days after getting my Death Grip teeth lifting bit, I finally put it to work 👊

First session today and I’m just easing myself into it and getting used to the mouthpiece.

Worked up to 20kg × 5 reps for 4–5 sets, then had my first go at sled pulling with 40kg + the sled.

I’m going to build it up gradually and see what I can achieve.

The long term goal… pulling a car 🚗💪

Join me on the journey and see what I can get out of this over the next few months.

Big thanks to @deathgripstrength for the teeth lifting bit. 👊it’s awesome!! 💪🤙

Day 1. Let’s see where this goes.

One for the Loughborough based athletes or anyone interested in why we have recently modified our reverse hyper to support the development of eccentric rate of force in the hamstrings in our track and field athletes this winter. #hamstringsworkout #trackandfield #strengthtraining #hamstrings

⛔️THIS EXERCISE CAN BE DANGEROUS AND THIS VIDEO IS FOR INFORMATION AND EDUCATION ONLY. I HAVE SPENT MANY YEARS CONDITIONING MY JAW AND NECK AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS.

On my days off from heavy training, I’m mostly ruck with a 75 pound backpack and train my neck and jaw.

I’ve been training my neck and jaw long before social media existed and it’s an important part of my program.

I recently saw @wsoo_mvmt post this exercise, and like everything he posts, it blew my mind.

I’m 5 foot 11 and weigh 195 pounds, and when I tried it, it had the unique characteristic of challenging the jaw as well as the front and back of the neck at the same time.

William makes this look easy, but it was by far the hardest neck and jaw challenge I’ve encountered and I failed with bodyweight.

Adding two Rogue level three bands, make me about 80 pounds lighter, so I was at least able to experience what it’s like to hang myself from my jaw.

The risk to the teeth and neck is obvious, and doing this is absolutely not necessary, but training my neck and jaw falls into a special category of exercise that transcends physical capacity and becomes more of a test of my ability to calm and focus my mind on the task at hand.

It’s similar to the way that breaking boards is not necessary to be a karate champion, yet it is valued for the mental and spiritual attributes imparts to the martial expression of that discipline.

There are many neck and jaw exercises that I recommend and teach to my clients, but being new to this one myself, it would be irresponsible for me to do so at this time.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I meet live with my community at 6 PM Pacific, 9 PM Eastern and we have unopened discussion about cannabis and the type of training that I do now that I’m not using it anymore.

The group is small and I can really spend time with each member, so please comment “BBS” if you’d like to learn more about this and other training modalities I use.

Aloha
