The 2026 Iron battle in the Cedar Valley has come and gone, and I am filled with gratitude. Gratitude to the lifters, spotters/loaders, judges, my coworkers, and the training community as a whole. Events like this are not possible without the support of the community. Our community showed up in a big way, whether it was lifting, volunteering, or buying food from the taco truck. We appreciate you all.

We will continue to refine our meets and bring bigger and better prizes every year. We are excited to continue this meet under the name, “UPA Iron Gorilla Open” in Spring of 2027. Mark your calendars and prepare for another big day of lifting. Thank you again for everyone’s time and commitment to this sport. We’ll see you at the next one.
Cheers, Jake

Wingman Week is back and better than ever at The Gym Cedar Falls🤩

Grab a friend, family member, co-worker, acquaintance - and bring em’ on in to The Gym!😎

Wingman Week is the perfect opportunity to introduce a friend to CrossFit style workouts! All workouts can be scaled for any ability level.

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be “in shape” to do Kilo classes! Our programs work for everyone – people who are just starting out and people who have been training for years. The magic is in the movement. Kilo workouts are different every day and can be modified to help each athlete achieve their goals. Our coaching staff is highly skilled at adapting workouts for people at any age and level of fitness👊 😤

Our inaugural @irongorillabarbell athlete @debbiefitkin displayed an immense amount of grit and resilience this weekend in Utah. Not only coming back from a rough 1/3 start on squats to hit a national DL record, but for staying focused for the entire 10 hours of competition. As not only a coach, but a competitor, I know how tough that can be. Super proud. Super excited for nationals in July.

Apparently, when they said selfies look more flattering upside down, they meant the camera, not the subject. 🤔 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hey #fitfriends and fellow #runnersofinstagram : I have a dirty little secret. I didn’t feel like running today. *gasp* So I did some #crossfit in a fantastically awkward, #mixedpatterns outfit. (#laundryday) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So how about we start the week with an upside-down selfie challenge? If tagged, you are challenged to an upside down selfie post!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your shot can be after/during a workout or just hang upside down off your office chair?! Take a silly inverted selfie and tag someone else! ❤️📷 #selfiechallenge #fitmom #motherrunner #girlswholift #gymmom #gymhairdontcare #upsidedownchallenge #upsidedown #fitblogger #fitnessblogger #mondaymood #gymlife #handstandpushups #marathontraining #illruntomorrow #lunchtimeworkout #unflatteringangle
