POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Grateful to have attended the @fremantlepress 35th Hungerford Award Celebration and Ceremony, supported by the City of Fremantle and Totally Lit, in partnership with Fremantle Press.
It was wonderful to listen to 2008 Hungerford Award alumna and New York Times bestselling author @natashalesterauthor , in conversation with host Deb Fitzpatrick, reflecting on her remarkable career and journey since receiving the award. Grateful to buy one of books and having it signed

Congratulations to Greg Taylor, winner of the 35th Hungerford Award for Wildlife in the Open Eucalyptus Forests. Written from the viewpoints of 24 species, none of which are human, this collection of narrative non-fiction essays invites readers to see the world from a different perspective. What a wonderful reminder of the power of storytelling to open our minds and help us see the world differently!

The winner receives $15,000 in prize money and a publishing contract with Fremantle Press, an incredible opportunity for a first-time author.

I was also grateful for the opportunity to meet @ben_lawver_freo_mayor Mayor of the City of Fremantle, and connect with others who share a passion for literature, creativity and storytelling.

As an author myself, having recently published Nothing Is Permanent: A Journey of Resilience, Healing and Courage, I deeply appreciate the courage it takes to put your words and stories into the world. Every story has the potential to connect, inspire and make someone feel less alone.
Here’s to celebrating authors, supporting emerging voices and continuing to share stories that matter. ❤️📚

Congratulations Fremantle press and everyone involved in hosting such an amazing event

Hahaha without planning I tuned up wearing Fremantle press colours what a bonus 😍

📣 EXCITING NEWS | We can’t wait to welcome author Deb Fitzpatrick to the NT in September.

Deb is the author of more than a dozen books for readers of all ages, including Tawny Trouble, Kelpie Chaos, the Spencer Gray books and her YA classic 90 Packets of Instant Noodles, which was named a CBCA Notable Book.

Deb’s school sessions will explore how she turns to real life to fuel her fiction and inspire students to dive into their own creativity.

Living in a cloud forest in Costa Rica, hiking with toucans, sloths and spider monkeys, and disappearing into a shack in a Karri forest have all inspired Deb’s adventure-in-nature stories ☁️🌳🦥

School sessions are available in:
📚 Darwin | Mon 7 - Wed 9 Sept
📚 Alice Springs | Thurs 10 & Fri 11 Sept

👀 Booking information will be out this week. Please DM us or email nt@cbca.org.au for more information.

🙏🏻 Thank you to the Mpartwe Alice Springs Community Foundation for partnering with the CBCA NT Branch and supporting Deb Fitzpatrick’s visit to schools in Mparntwe/Alice Springs.
