This piece is about unlearning the things that make us smaller and finding the courage to be more than the world expects of us. And honestly, I think we all have a little bit of that story in us. 🤎

Now, meet my baby: To The 7th Sun. 📖🥹

I’ve been writing since this 2020, and on October 22, I finally get to share this part of my world with you. And yes, I chose my birthday! 🎂🌞

Please, on my birthday, I want this emoji flying everywhere: ☀️😭❤️ Tell your friends, tell your friends’ friends, and please get yourself a copy when it drops. Let’s show this little book some love!

October 22nd is To The 7th Sunnn. 🌻

Yesterday evening at @thenordicabuja , the Ambassador of Italy to Nigeria said, “It’s amazing to be at an event where you forget to touch your phone throughout.”

And this was completely true!

Yesterday was the final day of AFLI (Abuja Festival of Literature & Ideas), hosted at @thenordicabuja and championed by @bookbuzzng Foundation. I was also opportune to be one of the performers on stage.

No exaggerations! Having an atmosphere filled with writers, artists, curators, ambassadors, and lovers of art is like having a slice of what they call paradise in the palm of your hands.

Very insightful conversations, beautiful performances, and powerful books!

I am also grateful for the opportunity to meet some of the people who taught and inspired me when I was much younger at @hcaf_abuja (The Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation).

I met Mr. @alkayy , a multimedia journalist, communication strategist, and development writer who taught me and a few others about art a few years ago.

I also met the amazing @whereisize , who was my teacher and is a great writer.

I met @testimonyodey , a friend and a young talented writer with two published books and several awards to her name.

I met @ikegod.chielo, one of the best book and movie reviewers in Nigeria.

Meeting @salimpotter_ , another great Nigerian voice, was also interesting.

Beautiful event, beautiful people.
