Thank you all for your support at the DECA Arts Fair this last weekend. It was wonderful to see you all coming out to support local artists and thank you so much for your interest in my work and learning more about weaving. Look out later this week for our tutorial post for the mini loom kits from the show. Thanks again, and I can't wait to see you again soon! 🙏🍂

Had an absolute BLAST with my live pet portraits at the Danforth East Arts Fair 🐾
An excellent excuse to draw my babies and meet a ton of sweet dogs at the park!! 🦮
If you missed out and want one of your own, DM me!

The @deca_arts fair was a joy. A huge thanks to the organizers and volunteers who put on such a well-coordinated, fun and fabulous fair.

I loved all the brief but meaningful conversations with visitors about art and objects and places, and I’m honoured by the collectors who chose to bring a work into their homes.

I was humbled and delighted to receive the Fine Arts Award! Thank you to sponsor @wagdanforth , a real fixture in the neighbourhood for the past 18 years.

The best thing about the award is you get “fair bucks” to spend at the fair. I took home a stunning pen-and-ink work by one of the many talented local artists at the fair @cocolo.sil , reminiscent of her roots in etching.

Please excuse the “Oscar speech” here, but this was my first fair and it takes a village, so buckle up. A heartfelt thank you to,

Dave, who was by my side literally from start to finish,
My kids for all their help setting up and popping in and out with snacks and hugs,
Megan for consistently telling me I can do it and also bringing me a hat mid-afternoon,
Chris and Alice for the encouragement, yummy matcha, and help with tear-down,
@wilkwatchworks for lending me tent weights and a TON of advice (see what I did there?),
@tackleboxartist for being an amazing art friend and fielding one thousand questions about fairs,
@daverheaumeartist for graciously offering his time and guidance about showing work locally upon being accosted in an art store by a stranger claiming she was an artist,
@amy.k.fitzgerald.art for writing a blog with a list of things you need on fair day,
@sophie.lafleur.artist for snapping a lovely photo while I forgot to take any,
@corlettcrafts for the art visit,
Trevor, Cara, Matt, Isabelle, Martha, Paul, Paul, and Ron for all your kindness! ♥️

Congratulations to all of our Performance and Ballet Companies on their incredible performance at the DECA Arts Fair at East Lynn Park yesterday! 💜✨

After only one class to prepare, our dancers put on a fantastic show, and we couldn’t be more proud of them! They truly showcased their talent, dedication, and love for dance. 🕺

A huge thank you to our Company Director Caitlin, Teachers Ava and Carolyn, and Studio Manager Lara for all of their hard work in preparing such an amazing performance!

And thank you to @deca_arts for giving our dancers the opportunity to share their love of dance with the community. We can’t wait to perform next year!!☀️👯‍♀️
