Okay. Imagine if there was no Sofar Chennai show coming up.

Just... nothing. 😱

No secret venue. No surprise artists. No room full of people who actually listen. Genuinely terrifying, right?

Yeah. We thought so too.

Anyyway, we're back on October 24th. 👻 And tickets are live right now.

Secret venue - revealed to ticket holders 36 hours before

If your festival haul didn't include a scarf, some handmade suncatchers, or a fresh henna design from @dare_artwear, did you even truly walk through our pop-up market? 🎨✨

If you didn’t leave @theamsuhouse with half her stall stuffed in your bag, honestly, what were you even doing?

Her setup was easily the cozy, chaotic heart of our market space. Between people frantically doodling their deepest secrets (and favorite snacks) on the “What makes life feel lighter?” prompt board, others lost in thought over those reflection prompt tins, and Amsu herself handing out warm smiles to literally everyone who walked by—this stall was impossible to leave.

Thank you for making our space look so ridiculously pretty and full of life. We adore you. 🤍

How many cups of @bruncoffee.in did it take you to get through Back to Our Roots? Be honest in the comments. 👇🏻

Huge love to @dandancoffeeman and the whole Brun crew for keeping our cups full, the vibes high, and the entire festival buzzing from start to finish. We couldn’t have pulled this off without you. ☕⚡

To everyone who thought Acoustic Night was gonna be quiet... @seattlewildfire had other plans. 😂

100% original set. First time ever playing their own tracks live. They didn’t come to play! No covers, no distortion pedals—just raw grunge on acoustic guitars, stripped-down bass, and unreleased heat (plus a few legendary yappers in the crowd trying their best to test the room’s limits). Unreleased grunge on an acoustic setup hit completely different! 🔥

Which track from their set is living rent-free in your head? Drop it in the comments! 👇🏻

Behind every performance is a life that continues long after the lights go down.

For musicians and gig curators, the work can mean unpredictable incomes, constant comparison, blurred boundaries between work and personal life, pressure to keep creating, and the emotional weight of whether a show, song, or opportunity succeeds.

In part 2 of the Behind the Spotlight series, @senjutimaitra looks at the experiences that often remain out of sight — including the gendered challenges, discrimination, and lack of recognition that shape life in India’s independent music industry.

Through conversations with musicians and gig curators across the country, Behind the Spotlight asks us to look beyond the romance of the artist’s life and consider the realities of the people sustaining India’s music ecosystems.
