“What makes a city better? The people who choose to step up and shape it.” Mayor Mark Sutcliffe sees what’s possible when those living here bring their ideas forward — especially young people. Ottawa is full of energy, creativity, and potential. And right now, there’s a real opportunity for youth to step in, share their ideas, and help make this city even better. 🗳 The Youth Municipal Election is that opportunity. Not someday. Not later. Now. 👉 https://untapped.earth Run. Campaign. Vote. Maintenant. 👉 https://untapped.earth Présente-toi. Fais campagne. Vote.

This didn’t start as an organizational idea. It started as a youth insight. At City Hall, Veda shares the vision behind Y.O.S.™ — the Youth Opportunity System… a concept shaped by young people who are navigating a system that feels fragmented, hard to access, and disconnected. Instead of asking for more programs, youth are asking for something different: A way to see opportunities clearly A way to move between them A way to build momentum over time That’s where Y.O.S. comes from. Youth Ottawa’s role is simple: to create the space, support, and platform to help bring that vision to life. And this is just the beginning. #YOS #YouthVoice #CoCreation #YouthLed #teamottawa

Huge shoutout to one of our YAM creators for bringing March’s Untapped event to life through this edit. The very talented @upupwhizzypanda This is what it looks like when youth don’t just attend… they create, capture, and shape the story. From the energy in the room to the moments that mattered — this is youth-led media in action. Proud of the talent. Proud of the ownership. Proud of what’s being built. More to come. #YAM #YouthOttawa #UntappedOttawa #YouthCreators #YouthMedia NextGeneration TeamOttawa

Ottawa has a chance to lead. Not with another program. Not with another short-term fix. But with a system. Introducing Y.O.S.™ — the Youth Opportunity System. A new approach to youth development that connects opportunity across the entire city — during the hours that matter most, in the spaces that shape real life. Because the truth is: the youth sector has been chronically underfunded, fragmented, and reactive for far too long. What if a city decided to change that? What if Ottawa became the first to build real youth infrastructure — connecting mentorship, media, entrepreneurship, civic spaces, and opportunity into one continuous pathway? That’s what this is. And if we get it right… this won’t just impact Ottawa. It will set the standard. #YOS #YouthOpportunitySystem #YouthOttawa #TeamOttawa #CityBuilding Innovation FutureOfWork

This Saturday at City Hall, Untapped brings together young people ready to connect, be inspired, and step closer to the opportunities, ideas, and relationships that can shape their future. Big things are building. Youth Ottawa was proud to recently meet with Mayor @_mayormarksutcliffe and his team as we continue strengthening our partnership with the City of Ottawa. For nearly 30 years, we’ve helped build youth infrastructure in this city through initiatives like 21 Under 21, Ottawa Youth Week, Mayor for a Day, CEO for a Day, and now Untapped. These platforms are about more than participation — they’re about creating real opportunities for young people across every ward, in every school community, and throughout Ottawa’s youth-serving ecosystem to lead, connect, and help shape the future of our city. A huge thank you to long-time city builders and instrumental partners supporting this work on the ground, including John Liptak @oakwooddesignandbuild and Councillor @lainejohnson_college , @braatzy and @adamcleeff Major updates coming soon at Untapped at City Hall. #YouthOttawa #Ottawa #Untapped #YouthLeadership #CityHall #CommunityImpact
