I wrote this song last month. It’s called ‘Gauntlet’. I’d love to hear what you think. Lyrics are below:

You throw down a gauntlet
While I peel off my armour
Like the rind of an orange
And I watch you get awkward

Press your blade to my naked skin
Watch me weep as it sinks right in
And then name me your next of kin
While the wine trickles down my shins

I lean back with my legs open
Raise your cup to my pool of sin
Elixir of life or poison
Depending on the mood you’re in

Let you drink on one condition
Let me sleep underneath your skin
Before you do your ablutions
Let me witness the filth you keep hidden

I’m not here to judge you
I only want to love you
My tears are not an omen
But signs of my devotion

You throw down a gauntlet
While I peel off my armour
You fall for another portrait
While I raise a cup to you

My treasured tea lights! It’s been a while…allow me to print the headlines:
I am approaching the conclusion of my time in Prague which has been incredibly refreshing, adventurous, and inspiring.
Now the headlights of this lil’ wagon are beaming towards…Edinburgh!
I shall be taking up residence in this glorious Scottish city at the end of May and my first priority is finding a fretboard to wrap my fingers around.
I am immensely excited for the next chapter. My darling friend Music has been cast as the protagonist.
So, say tuned for tunes!
Meow for now,
Hearth 🔥

EDINBURGH FRINGE 2026: I saw 31 shows, met so many incredible new friends, consumed way too many meal deals, slept like four hours the entire month, and you bet your bottom DOLLAR I’ll be back next year. xx

Memory lane: 2000s edition. A truly iconic album from @kellyclarkson. I’m fairly sure I stole the CD from @claravanwel when we were kids. I have no regrets.
