A year ago I was so incredibly lucky to be cast in such an important project that is airing tonight - The Experiment. I never could have dreamed that I would be making my tv debut with a project so monumental and emotional, but I am truly grateful to be apart of this project.

The Experiment highlights the dangers of dehumanisation and propaganda against the disabled community both historically and in the present - and how extreme the effects are. I have never been prouder to belong to the disabled community, we are tremendous - we are hilarious, we are brilliant, we are strong, we are capable and we are everything in between.

This project had a double meaning for me, as the great-granddaughter of Holocaust survivors and as a proud disabled woman. There are not enough words to emphasise how deeply honoured I feel to have been a part of this production. I am incredibly proud of this work, proud of the whole team and excited for you all to see this show.

I am endlessly grateful to the production team @kalelproductions and to the immensely talented and lovely cast & crew, and also to my amazingly supportive agents @inclusivetalentuk - without whom I would not have gotten this opportunity.

I don’t share my story for sympathy. I share it because I know what it’s like to desperately need someone else’s. 💗

I’ve been sharing my life with endometriosis and chronic illness online for years now. The hospital admissions, surgeries, endless appointments, breakdowns, little victories and everything in between.

And trust me, if I wanted attention, I’d have chosen a slightly more glamorous way of getting it than spending half my life in a hospital gown with my arse hanging out. 🙃

But seriously…

I don’t share these things because I want people to feel sorry for me. I don’t want pity, sympathy or attention.

I share because I remember what it felt like to not be listened to. To be dismissed. To feel completely alone and wonder whether anyone else understood what I was going through.

I share because somewhere out there might be a young girl being told her pain is normal. Someone fighting to be taken seriously. Someone facing a diagnosis, a surgery or a life they never imagined having.

And maybe, just maybe, something I’ve shared will make them feel a little less alone.

Not everything I post is pretty. Some of it is raw, uncomfortable and incredibly personal. And believe me, there are days when I’d love nothing more than to keep it all to myself.

But if sharing the hardest parts of my life helps even ONE person recognise a symptom, advocate for themselves or feel understood, then it’s worth it.

I never wanted to become an expert in a disease I didn’t ask for. But if everything I’ve been through can help make things even slightly better for someone else, then at least something good can come from it.

Because one day, your story might become someone else’s survival guide. 💛

And that, right there, is why I’ll keep sharing. Even when it’s hard. Even when people don’t understand. Even when I get accused of oversharing.

Because awareness matters. And so do the people quietly reading along who haven’t found their voice yet. 💗
