Lush coastal light meets kinetic rhythm. In ‘Florida Vibes Series’ (2026), Detlef ‘Dego’ Gotzens translates the atmosphere of the coast into an expansive 64” × 54” oil on canvas. Grounded in his foundational discipline as a Master Glassmaker, Gotzens constructs a vibrant, layered terrain where botanical greens, electric turquoise, and sun-drenched pigments dance across the surface.

Coastal light, physical depth, and uninhibited color. ‘Florida Vibes Series’ (64” × 54”, 2026) by German-Canadian artist and Master Glassmaker Detlef ‘Dego’ Gotzens. Discover more on Niotah.

Darwaza 🚪

Rarely do I see where my paintings will live. Most find their collectors, and I never know the homes they become part of. The painting finds its collector, I just create it. But this one’s journey has been special!

Darwaza was collected through @punjabichambercanada_toronto Belong Gala Art Auction, where my husband and I helped raise funds for @kidshelpphone - a cause close to our hearts.

Recently, I was invited into its new home. We shared an evening of music, food, laughter, and #Punjabi culture, and the story of the work was received with such care. It felt less like visiting a collector, and more like belonging for a moment.

It now lives among an incredible collection, including works by Detlef Gotzens and Milly Ristvedt.

From my ancestral home in Punjab, to my Oakville studio, to the collector’s home, Darwaza continues its journey into this new chapter of its life.

A large-scale abstract painting commands attention with its rich movement and vibrant energy—swirling blues, warm ochres, and dynamic linear gestures that bring active urbanity into the home. Rather than competing for focus, the sculptural bronze B&B Italia bench below gently anchors the composition, grounding the artwork's exuberance in calm, architectural form.
