Two weeks ago, I was looking at a completely different October screening. Then everything shifted, and somehow They Cloned Tyrone, Thomasville, Big Gipp, Atlanta Hip-Hop history and this incredible group of people all divinely lined up.

And I’m grateful for the way it unfolded.

I’m grateful for the artists who continue to create.

I’m grateful for the people who continue to show up.

I’m grateful to be able to create spaces where film, music, history, culture and community can meet. ❤️🖤💚

I had such an amazing time attending both weekends of the festival—and when I tell you, the films I screened and the talent in the house…WOW! 🙌🏽

This is why I continue to show up and support BronzeLens. I always leave inspired—more committed to continuing my journey as an actor and more open to wherever creativity may lead me next…perhaps filmmaking, producing, or something I haven’t even imagined yet.

When I introduced myself and asked Mr. Egan what his film was about, I was intrigued. He encouraged me to see it. I’m not a sports kind of person but wanted to support the film. So glad I did. I couldn’t stop talking to the hubby about it. A great documentary that has now won Best International Film! Congrats! 🏆👏🏽

Finally! Just had my first Bronzelens experience!

🏆 Screened my short film I KNOW IT’S ME for the first time in a traditional theater. My family, my friends, 🎬MY CREW🎬, and nearly all my coworkers came out 🤎

🏆 Moderated the Young & Hungry: The New Filmmakers panel! Such insightful knowledge about trusting the path - no matter how irregular it looks at first 🤎

🏆 Attended the awards show! Congratulations to all the nominees! Felt good to support. 🤎

Thank you @jaydgreg for encouraging me to submit this year! It was an honor to be considered.

I still haven’t fully processed this. But it’s starting to sink in.
We were completely surprised — and incredibly honored — by the love shown to our film, Love, Patrick: Nothing Is Impossible.
🏆 Best Documentary
One of the things our mentor Kenny Leon always says is, “We’re not promised the awards, just the work.” And that’s what we lean into every time we start a project. Do the work. Tell the story.
🏆 Best Georgia Filmmaker
We love this state. We love the city of Atlanta. And, more importantly, we love the incredible community of filmmakers who continue to create, inspire and push this industry forward.
To be singled out among so many talented Georgia filmmakers honestly feels out of this world.
🏆 The Deidre McDonald Best of Festival Award
This one brought me to tears.
To have The Horne Brothers forever connected to Ms. Deidre through this award is one of the greatest honors of my professional career.
Ms. Deidre was my professor at Clark Atlanta University. So seeing her sitting in the audience, smiling up at The Horne Brothers like we were her filmmaking children… man. That was everything.
Thank you to BronzeLens, PeachSoul Productions, everyone who worked on this film, everyone who has supported us, and everyone who continues to love Love, Patrick.
We don’t take any of this for granted.
Next stop: Vicksburg. Jackson State. Out on Film. LA. NY. And more!!!!!
