If we asked you to write a list of companies looking to sponsor grapplers, there is little chance you would have thought of who just signed a major deal with jiu-jitsu / MMA crossover stars the Ruotolo brothers. The happy-go-lucky surf-skate-fight loving twins just landed a sponsorship from a major, major MAJOR corporate company: we’re talking a blue-chip, globally-known, decades-old megacorp. If it’s not the biggest sponsorship deal we’ve ever seen, we’d be very surprised indeed. Also in this episode: - Polaris 39 recap, results and behind the scenes - Sportsmanship is not dead! - IBJJF No-Gi Pans: the return of Andre Galvao - Why are people turning down big money paydays? - Smoothcomp announces Gymdesk partnership and new apps (sponsored section) - Ruotolo bros score MASSIVE mind-blowing sponsorship deal - Jiu-jitsu designer collabs with a world-famous rock band Episode 51 is out now on Patreon, YouTube Apple Spotify etc shortly

Medium Heavyweight at the 2026 IBJJF No-Gi Pan Championship was the biggest field at the event, but with a 67% finish rate, it kept moving throughout the weekend, and it did so from the jump with a pair of submission wins for Viktoria Rejzek and Magdalena Loska in the opening round. Rejzek faced off with Martyna Kapuscinska in a rematch of their earlier Openweight bout, and it was Kapuscinska who moved on by points, while Deise Leonanjo joined her in the semifinals with an armbar victory. Kapuscinska would back up her top seed in their bout, forcing a tap by foot lock to move on to Sunday. On the other side of the bracket, Gabriela Miranda and Loska had a close bout, with a couple of big takedowns from Miranda likely proving decisive with the referee when the bout ended tied. That earned her a shot at Fernanda Cristo, who bested the dangerous Gabi Schuck with a rear naked choke, before again attacking the back against Miranda in a victory on points. The final continued the trend of submission finishes, as Kapuscinska got after Cristo’s legs and stayed on the offensive until she exposed the heel for a gold medal-winning tap.

We asked some of the women at @ibjjf No-Gi Pans last weekend who their guesses were for our final instructor announcement for Unbreakable 2 taking place on February 5-6, 2027 in Fort Worth, Texas. We had some good guesses! Do you think any of them were correct? If not, who’s your guess??? Drop it in the comments! #girlswhograpple #jiujitsu #blackbelt #bjjcamp #whitebelt

If Jiu Jitsu were a person, he would tell you this: Stay in control of your emotions in difficult situations. Be it before you have it. Talk less, do more. Já seguiu a @luizamonteirobjj ? Talent isn’t enough. Discipline yourself. Be willing to learn something new. Knowledge is infinite. Já seguiu a @tayaneporfiriobjj ? You always learn when you lose. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. Já seguiu a @izzzagerada ? Believe in your potential. Já seguiu a @alexahersejj ? You’ll never get where you want to be if you don’t take the first step and take a chance. Já seguiu a @leticiacardozobjj ? Authenticity is everything. Create your own identity. Já seguiu a @deiseleonanjo ?
