The olive tree is one (of many others) symbols of Palestinian resistance. Just as olive trees are rooted in the land in Palestine, Palestinians are rooted in their land. No amount of apartheid, colonialism, or genocide can change that fact. The land of Palestine (from the river to the sea) will always belong to the Palestinians. We’ve planted the olive tree in our campsite to remind ourselves and our CvB, that we aren’t going anywhere until our university meets our demands. @radboud_uni DO NOT remove the tree. Also, end our complicity in genocide, apartheid, and occupation NOW.

Today we marched around campus and planted an olive tree in our old campsite. We’ve read stories of children that were killed in the most brutal ways by the Israeli war machine in Gaza. We’ve done a moment of silence to honor the martyrs, but no amount of silence seems to fit the numbers of murdered Palestinians anymore. Meanwhile as children are being killed, our CvB still have the audacity to stall with a shady and meaningless ethics committee instead of ending our complicity with Israel’s ongoing genocide and war crimes. We left a sign by the olive tree that says: “76 years of genocide, apartheid, and settler colonialism”. We hope our university @radboud_uni listen and act FAST. Because we will not rest until they boycott and divest from genocide, apartheid, and occupation. 🇵🇸🇵🇸

The turn out for today’s sit-in was HUGE that we couldn’t all fit inside 🔥 We stayed for 4 hours in the station to send a clear message: it didn’t start on October the 7th. It’s a year of genocide, AND 76 years of occupation and ethnic cleansing. The radius of Israel’s war crimes keeps on expanding. Today we chanted for Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria. All are being bombed by Israel. We need to end our complicity in all these crimes NOW. We need to stop the genocide NOW. We will keep showing up. Palestinans have taught us that we can’t and should never despair. Globalize the intifada 🇵🇸🇵🇸
