I ran the TC 10 mile and loved it. 😂🫶🏻
Those of you who know me, you know I don’t run. Those of you who REALLY know me, you know I absolutely do not like running and for the longest time I said I would never be a “runner”.

Now I can laugh at myself. This was the best experience of my life. Over the last 17 weeks I learned so much about myself and discovered a new passion at 34. PS - Strava thinks I ran an 8:05/mi but I’m not competitive at all so nbd 😂

I wouldn’t be here saying all of this without my Laner (@delaneyleah ❤️) I can’t wait to run with you!

Also, s/o to @iaiden for quite literally sprinting the marathon, getting a PR && qualified to Boston!!! Woooo!!

✨ Life update ✨

We’ve been MIA - Long story short, Saturday, August 15th, Delaney had to go in for emergency brain surgery after taking a really bad fall, fracturing her skull in two places and having what they call an epidural hematoma. We were lucky enough that she was treated by one of the best neurosurgeons in Wisconsin and are back home healing. ❤️‍🩹 I have been watching over her making sure she comes back stronger than ever, but truly, she’s the toughest woman I know.

We have some fun content we haven’t gotten to share and we are planning on posting that soon. Also, more to come with fun new mocktails while we take a break from the hard stuff. But let’s be honest, we all know she’ll be craving a nice glass of wine real soon 😉

Maybe we’ll cook ya dinner while we wait!

Thanks to all of you who have already reached out and sent us food and get well soon gifts. We love you all 💕

On Saturday morning, Delaney suddenly became lightheaded, passed out, and suffered a devastating fall. She fractured her skull in two places, causing bleeding on her brain known as an epidural hematoma. She was transferred to UW Health in Madison, where doctors strongly recommended emergency brain surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was successful.

True to who she is, Del was already up walking just 24 hours later. After spending time in the Neuro ICU and several more days recovering in the hospital, she was discharged on Wednesday and is now home resting with Mel by her side.

If you know Del, you know she’s already asking when she can get back to teaching and running. ❤️ While that determination doesn’t surprise us, her focus right now needs to be on healing.

As part of her recovery, Delaney will be taking time away from both of her jobs. To help ease some of the financial stress while she’s unable to work, we’ve set up a Venmo link to assist with everyday expenses during her recovery.

If you’re able to contribute, we’d be incredibly grateful. If not, sharing this post or simply keeping Del in your thoughts means just as much.

Thank you for loving our GRIND family the way you always do.

Drop Del some love below 🫶🏻

My strong, brave, sweet angel girl ♥️ I love you so much.

On Saturday morning at 5:30am Delaney went to the bathroom and suddenly felt lightheaded, then passed out. She took a really bad fall and ended up fracturing her skull in two places leading to some bleeding in her skull. She had what they call an epidural hematoma. They transferred her to UW Health in Madison, WI where they strongly encouraged immediate brain surgery so we made the difficult decision and agreed to the surgery. The surgery was successful and only 24 hours later Delaney had already been on her feet a few times. She stayed one night in the neuro ICU, then they moved her down to the general hospital stay for 3 days.

Today we got the green light and Delaney was discharged by the neuro surgeon.

Del is so strong and staying very positive. We made it back home and got her all settled in. She has some resting to do but we all know a tough road ahead of her isn’t going to hold her back. She’s already talking about how she can’t wait to start teaching her classes and running again.

We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing Dr. Baskaya and all of the wonderful nurses who kept our girl in good health.
