NEW INC’s annual showcase at the WSA NYC DEMO2024 - June 5-7
Mark your calendars for DEMO 2024, @newinc annual showcase of creative projects and practices, June 5-7, at @wsanyc in downtown Manhattan..

This year, we have contributed two sets of limited edition Micropolitan Studio prints that will be available at the NEW INC DEMO2024 on the 4th Floor of WSA.

Image:
‘Rocking Slider’ is part of the “Playgrounds and Fear” series, a multiphase art and design research project that playfully combines and rethinks core elements of the playground to examine how this small-scale public space embodies complex socioeconomic and psychological narratives about the body. This object reimagines ubiquitous playground equipment through the lenses of fear and design to provoke memories of play.
Series of 25, 19” X 15”, plate size 8” x 10”
Copperplate intaglio etching on Hahnemuhle 300gsm
Printed by @polylinepress

We are so excited to announce that micropolitan studio has been selected for the second time as part of a the year 9 @newmuseum @newinc incubator! 🎉🎉🍾

We will be "working at the intersection of art, design, technology, and entrepreneurship and will participate in NEW INC’s yearlong program which includes a values-centered business education curriculum, mentorship, and community events. This year, members range from individual practitioners—such as artists, designers, and storytellers—to collectives, studios, nonprofits, and startups. In alignment with NEW INC’s mission to foster cultural value, many of these members are committed to projects that emphasize social impact, addressing issues of racial equity, climate, access, education, and the future of work, among other pressing humanitarian concerns." (From New Inc)

We are part of the Collective Abundance track, "where teams are creatively reimagining new models for wealth, health, and justice."

MORE TO COME TO, STAY TUNED ♥️

Did you see @kev_kev_kevvv's (MDes HPDM '21) #GSDInstagramTakeover on @gsdadmissions this weekend? He shared an inside look at the J-Term course "From Polyline to Print," a virtual introduction to printmaking that introduced the fundamentals and basics of intaglio etching situated alongside architectural representation and practice.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Watch the full takeover now in @gsdadmissions's story highlights. ⁣⁣⁣
--⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
J-Term workshops are non-credited courses held during the first two weeks in January, taught by the GSD community for the GSD community.⁣ It is an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to hone skills, learn new ones, or just have fun.⁣⁣⁣
