A lil late, but we made it 🥂🎬
Last month, I got to attend NYFF for the opening night of Otra, a film I worked on last year. Pretty special getting to see a project I was part of screen right here in my hometown.
Grateful for the experience, the amazing cast, and another one for the books. Film #3! 🖤

To be surrounded by so many beautiful people on a set that felt familiar…*chef’s kiss* And to be in a ONE SHOT TAKE MOVIE MUSICAL!!!? Wow 🤯 I feel so incredibly blessed 🥹

Congratulations to @armaniortiz @boricuasandalio and the entire team on a job well done! Working with @raiannacbrown and @tessa_garcia31 was the icing on the cake!

Shout out to all the amazingly talented artists who were part of this film! So many gifted creators from all over the world coming together to craft something so special really reminds me of why I do this in the first place.

Congratulations on the @nylatinofilmfestival premiere!! So much more to come and can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Enjoy another one of my masterpieces 🙂‍↕️ ‘Southern Breakdown’ 💃🏻🪑 I heard Joy’s song, then the dance and rest of the music arrangement was born soon after. This piece is about sisterhood and the shadow side of womanhood. I put immense love into this one. I had the privilege of working with some fantastic dancers in this first iteration of my dance company @bcdanceco.

I love this theater footage and how the camera angle captures my work zoomed out. We really ate that stage up. At this performance, there was a technical issue mid-dance and the music shut off at one point (maybe the power too?) the dancers stayed professional and the piece continued to be performed gorgeously, en tempo. 👏

Danced by @manda___lou, @fieryshowgirl, @delayla, @ettegirb

Music:
“Train Song” by Avocado Estate, written by @voyagebycello
“Fisherman’s Woman” by @emilianatorrini
“The Sun” by The Microphones

Choreography, concept, direction, costumes, and music arrangement by Brigette Cormier

Special thanks to @lerougepierre for this performance opportunity as part of the show she curated 🌹.

We just wrapped OTRA and I’m trying to find the words to express my gratitude to @boricuasandalio & @armaniortiz for giving me my first associate choreographer & principal dancer credit on a film!

We started creating choreography for this in September 2024 and I had no idea the journey that I was about to experience.

Thank you to every single person involved in this process and on this production. I cannot wait for you to see the magic that we created with all of these incredible artists.
