If you’ve saved one of my posts, you probably love getting outside with your family as much as we do!

Let’s join @denvercasr to help take care of these places we love! Denver Climate Project’s The One Effect is collecting short videos to speak up about climate change and hopefully set a world record!

Simply record yourself saying, “I’m just one person. What can I do about climate change all by myself?” Then share something you can commit to doing to help with climate change when you submit it.

Sometimes it feels like one small thing we do isn’t going to change much. But if we’re all doing one small thing, it starts to add up! #ad

Meet your neighbor, Isela 💚

She’s resided in West Colfax for 33 years, and she walks or bikes to work at Colfax Elementary, so she knows how important it is to make sure our streets are safe and accessible. That’s why she’s joining our walk and rolls.

“It’s important for the students to see me…to be out in the morning, as other students are walking, to feel safe.”

Let’s make West Colfax safer for every kid walking to school, and for all of us navigating our way through the neighborhood. Join our next walk and roll, this weekend!

📅 Sunday, Oct 25
☕️ Arrive at 9:45am and grab a coffee on WeCAN!
⏱️ 10am - 12pm | Walk and Roll
📍 Brew Culture (3620 W Colfax Ave.)

Let us know if you plan to join (email 14thAve@wecandenver.org) or just show up on Sunday!

Bring a friend, a stroller, your dog, your opinions. No experience needed, just your eyes and your stories.

🙌 Huge thanks to @legacymediaworks for the amazing video!

Last Saturday, several local residents walked and rolled through a few select streets in the neighborhood. No surprise: the people who get around this neighborhood every day know it best - and they have some ideas!

Swipe to see our route and a few of the spots we think could use a little more love ➡️

Here are some of the ideas we heard:
🚸 Safer crosswalks, maybe even raised ones
🌧️ Rain gardens that double as traffic diverters to reduce cut-through traffic and speeding
🌻 Curb bump-outs turned into mini gardens that soak up water runoff
🔄 Green roundabouts to slow down traffic
🚲 Clearer bike lanes so riders feel safer on the road

💬 Which one gets your vote? Tell us in the comments, or add an idea we missed!

Everything we found will help shape the future of West Colfax for everyone, whether you walk, roll, bike, or ride the bus.

Huge thanks to @pedstriandignity and unitedecology for attending and helping us turn these ideas into real plans (designs coming soon 🌱)

Missed last Saturday? There’s one more walk and roll that you can join!
📅 Sun, Oct 25 · 10am
📍 Brew Culture (3620 W Colfax Ave.)

Let us know if you want to join (email 14thAve@wecandenver.org) or just show up!

Evie, our West Colfax neighbor, has a simple way of getting to know the streets of the community: walk (or roll) slowly, stay curious, and bring friends along. 👀

“The way we experience our environment, even if we don’t notice it all the time, has such an impact on quality of life.”

Last weekend, Evie and a group of neighbors trained with @pedestriandignity so they can guide upcoming walk and rolls to check out the safety, accessibility, and areas of opportunity in the West Colfax community. Now they’re ready, and they want you to come along!

We’ll stroll - and roll - together, stop at a few locations, and talk about what we love and what we’d change. No experience needed, just a little curiosity. And you’ll meet plenty of neighbors along the way. 🤝

📅 This Saturday, Oct 17
📍 Meet at 10am at Side Pony Coffee and Cocktails (4635 W Colfax Ave)

In Evie’s words, “We need as many people as possible.” Grab a friend and come along! 💚

Let us know if you’d like to attend by emailing 14thAve@wecandenver.org

We shouldn't be installing raised curbs around any of the tree wells. It creates trip hazards and it is a waste of water.

#waterwaste #waterharvesting #denver

@denvercasr why is it okay for this to happen? Especially by another city agency like @denverdoti with the #colfaxbrt project?

I'm still dumbfounded how people can install bike racks with standard nuts that can be removed with a standard wrench.

@denverdoti & @denvercasr who evaluates these?
What good are they if nobody wants to use them?

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Your Home. Your Wallet. Your Climate. 🙏

We came together to learn, ask questions, share resources, make connections, and explore practical ways to make more intentional choices—for our homes, our wallets, our communities, and our climate.

The day was filled with valuable information, practical resources, meaningful conversations, and people willing to share what they know with one another.

And…the horchata was definitely a hit. 😂

To our speakers, sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and everyone who showed up with curiosity and a willingness to learn—thank you for being part of it.

One connection.
One resource.
One action.

None of us has to do everything. But together, those individual actions can become something much bigger.

💚 Small choices. Collective impact.
