My name is Lynn Segal and I am running for Boulder City Council! I ran 25 years ago, but no one I would vote for would agree to run, so it’s up to me now. I regularly follow 5 city boards: Planning Board, Landmarks, Water Resources Advisory, Transportation Advisory, Open Space Board of Trustees, all for decades, as well as Rocky Flats and Israel/Palestine. I have 30 years experience as an ultrasound technologist with expertise in high risk OB/Gyn. I support municipalization which was on board for 10 years and 4 ballot measures until Sam Weaver, Bob Yates, and Alice Jackson defanged it overnight at a “chance” meeting at a football game. Vote Lynn Segal for reparations for this mess Boulder is becoming. These development projects pass at the Planning Board where Aaron Brockett did his damage for 5 years before he joined city council and mayor. * Impact Fees * Stop the Developer* *Free Palestine*

The @denvervoice web version for the article I wrote and photographed is available to read at bit.ly/dvmegantrussell When I interviewed Megan Trussell’s parents in February, they told me so many beautiful and silly stories about Megan. I hope this article captures some of the essence of who she was and continues to bring eyes back to the case. Action over ideology always wins in saving lives and improving the health and well-being of communities. As this @denvervoice piece shares (link in bio), when people are truly welcomed and met without judgment, their health needs are met. Speaking of @harmreductionactioncenter, where she now works as assistant director, Ruth Kanatser said, “It was also the first place where anybody treated me like a human being...Anybody said anything I had to say was valuable whatsoever, and that was mind-blowing.” The piece continued, “For nearly 25 years, Kanatser has been sharing the organization’s philosophy, rooted in reducing the negative consequences of drug use rather than insisting that a person stop using before they deserve care, support, or safety.” #HarmReduction #HarmReductionSavesLives #Overdose #OverdoseEpidemic #EndOverdose At top over black background, words in white read, "Action over ideology always wins and". Below this, black font reads, "SAVES LIVES.". The words in black are highlighted in yellow. NHRC logo below, at right. Lower half of graphic shows news coverage screenshot, showing woman with dark brown hair in a bun wearing black-rimmed glasses and red and black jacket. She looks directly at the camera and is seen through a glass door or window, with signs reading in part, "HARM REDUCTION" and " NALOXONE (NARCAN) SAVES". White bricks and a blue curtain are pictured at right. Headline in screenshot reads, “Harm Reduction: Action Over Ideology". Black and white lines and circles pattern frames sides of screenshot.

Unconditional: Stories from the Denver Basic Income Project | Official FEATURE DOCUMENTARY trailer 🎬 “Unconditional” centers the lived experiences of Chantal, Charlie, and L as they navigate homelessness in Denver and move toward greater stability on their own terms. Through their stories, the film offers an intimate look at how access to direct cash reshapes daily decision-making, relationships, and long-term possibilities. Alongside participant stories, “Unconditional” includes perspectives from Denver Basic Income Project staff and Denver Councilwoman Shontel M. Lewis, grounding these experiences within the broader systems that shape housing, economic mobility, and public policy in Denver. Produced in partnership with the @denvervoice and Kayla Ferguson, this film is part of DBIP’s ongoing commitment to participant-led storytelling and narrative change. To learn more about the film and RSVP for the Spring premiere, head to www.denverbasicincomeproject.org/documentary 🍿 (Link in bio!) Thank you to everyone involved in this project. We can’t wait to share these powerful stories with the world!

If you know me — I’ve probably made you listen to these words a million times. And it still would not be enough 🧠 I came across “Lessons I Want to Share” by Raelene Johnson when I picked up a @denvervoice newspaper at the Boulder Farmer’s Market in 2024. I don’t say this lightly when I say – it changed my life. As Divine Timing would have it, these words were exactly what I needed to hear & still what I need to hear 2yrs later. As I knew I was meant to hear these words, I knew I had to share them – just as bravely as Raelene Johnson did. I hope you can take what you need from this and carry it with you – “We must always stay in the light. It is so peaceful there.” ⭐️
