“Wait… Physiotherapists do more than massages?” 👀😂

That’s honestly one of the most common things I hear as a physiotherapy student 🩺

Some people even ask if we are bone setters 😭

And honestly, while I have absolutely no problem with those who are massage therapists or traditional bone setters, I used to feel uncomfortable seeing physiotherapy strimlined to that

Because physiotherapy is SO much wider

Yes, massage therapy can be one of our treatment modalities, but physiotherapy goes far beyond massages alone ✨
We also use exercise therapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, rehabilitation techniques, posture and movement correction, patient education, and lifestyle modifications to help improve health and recovery 💙

Physiotherapy is about helping people move again.
Helping people reduce pain.
Helping people regain independence.
Helping people return to living fully again ✨

From stroke rehabilitation to sports injuries, back pain, posture correction, neurological conditions, recovery after surgery, and even public health advocacy physiotherapy is transforming lives every single day.

One thing my clinical journey has taught me is this:
Movement is something many people take for granted… until they lose it.

And that realization changed the way I see healthcare completely 🤍

This is one of the reasons I’m starting this educative content series , to help more people truly understand what physiotherapy is about, while also sharing my experiences, lessons, growth, and journey as a student physiotherapist 🌍✨

Trust me, there’s so much more to physiotherapy than people think 😭😂

If you’re passionate about healthcare, rehabilitation, wellness, lifestyle improvement, or public health, then follow The physio Diary for more on this journey because we’ll be learning and growing together 🚀

So tell me honestly…
Before today, what did YOU think physiotherapists actually do? 👀👇
