Brother Spotlight: Derrick Corona

Derrick continues to embody what it means to be a Brother of Sigma Alpha Mu through his dedication, leadership, and commitment to building opportunities for those around him. Born in Miami, Florida, Derrick recently graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Public Relations and Applied Communications and an A.A. in Psychology, leaving behind a legacy of service and impact within the Delta Zeta Chapter.

Throughout his time in ΣΑΜ, Derrick served in multiple leadership positions across several years, including Exchequer, Formal Chair, and Social Media Chair. Whether organizing chapter initiatives, coordinating major events, or creating memorable experiences for brothers and guests, Derrick consistently brought ideas to life through careful planning and execution. His efforts helped secure sponsors, partnerships, and opportunities that elevated the chapter and created lasting value for future generations of brothers.

Beyond his leadership roles, Derrick has been a strong advocate for health and wellness. As a fitness coach, he has inspired brothers to prioritize their physical and mental well-being while fostering a culture of discipline and self-improvement. His passion for fitness extended beyond ΣΑΜ, collaborating with other Greek organizations to promote healthy lifestyles and strengthen relationships throughout the FIU Greek community.

From his leadership and professionalism to his commitment to helping others succeed, Derrick represents what it means to lead with purpose. As he begins his next chapter after graduation, the impact he has made on Sigma Alpha Mu will continue to be felt for years to come.
