Lettering and a flying person. Must be my lucky day.
If you’ve been keeping up with my career you may have seen my subtle changes over the years.
Lately I’ve been pursuing the combination of lettering (or ornamentation that is “letter like”) and subject matter.
So when my client approached me with this idea I was pumped!
Of course I still love doing all styles of tattoos so dm or email me with your ideas and let’s set something up!

Today I got a good start on a really fun piece. My client only had a few hours to work with, so we will revisit and finish this tattoo in the future. Hopefully I get a chance to come back and finish it sooner than later-
I have been having the best time tattooing with my friends at @desert_psychedelic the last few days. Such a talented crew of GOOD people. I have never felt so comfortable in a new environment, and am sooo appreciative of everybody making me feel so welcome. I have one more day of tattoos out here in the West before I fly home. I can't wait to catch up with everybody and see my mf DOGS 💖

My client came to me with an elephant she was less than happy with. The art itself wasn’t quite to a level she was hoping for but even more so she had a less than favorable experience. I often find that the experience of getting a tattoo can be as, or more, impactful than the actual tattoo itself.
The elephant is still a great idea and we were still able to make it work as a coverup.
I really dig turning a negative memory into a positive one.

A jellyfish really isn’t a fish at all. In fact, it’s not even made out of jelly. Sounds like a liar organism to me….

Look at these funny little chickens I made. Gave em some fruits and flowers to be friends with too. Even got to frame an existing piece like a pretty little picture hanging on a wall.

Here’s a painting I made…almost made…
.
Honestly, it’s hard to own up to.
But I ruined a painting I was working very hard on. For those that don’t work in art and don’t care to read about it skip to the ✨
.
I was working on this painting as a new idea I had for a layering of framing on subject matter, foreground and background.
All of this explores the furthering of creating space within a flat image without any perspective positioning (nothing else in frame to create perspective).
.
All of this relies purely on the use of calligraffiti. It’s been my heavy focus in my artistic career lately.
.
Here’s the bummer part.
.
I applied a varnish to seal and create a congruent gloss over the top to bring the painting together. It was safe to apply for the materials I used.
.
I was wrong. The paint I used for the Calligraffiti aspect was metallic flaked based (think glitter).
.
✨ When I hit the painting with varnish the glitter immediately ran.
.
Ruined.
.
My loss, your gain.
I was planning a request of $600 for this painting.
It’s now $300. Dm for inquiries.

Gold medalist in the Arizona 40 yard dash. Probably only ever came in second to a tortoise. But if that were true there would be a story about it we’d all know.
