Studio A’s 2026 @designappetitokc installation benefiting @focusonhomeorg Inspired by the Oklahoma prairie, this installation celebrates the colors, textures, and rhythms of the landscape we call home. With this year’s theme being In Full Spectrum, we explored the colors of the prairie beyond its familiar greens and golds, capturing its full range of color through a vibrant spectrum inspired by the landscape. Naturally dyed fabrics, colored using flowers, herbs, and spices, flow overhead in patterns inspired by the rolling plains, transforming a familiar landscape into an immersive experience of color, material, and place. Sustainability was a driving force behind our design. In an effort to reduce waste, every element of this installation will find a second home: • The chairs were sourced from the Focus on Home warehouse and will be donated to families in need. • The frame will be repurposed at @citycareofficial as a shade structure for its residents. • The fabrics will be repurposed in the Studio A office as a feature wall and sound-absorbing element. A huge thank you to @cre_construction for providing the frame, construction materials, and the time and talent that brought this installation to life. They are truly wonderful collaborators, and we’re grateful to have them as part of this project. Thank you to @triple.c.lighting and @3glighting for supplying the incredible light fixtures featured in the installation, and to @deadpeoplesstuffokc for providing the tables. Lastly, thank you to our incredibly talented chef partners (who also happen to be our clients!), @sedaliasokc! After collaborating with them and CRE Construction over the past year on their exciting new concept, @pumacubokc, partnering with them for this event was a no-brainer. We’re so grateful to work with such talented people who bring creativity and passion to everything they do. This was such a fun and meaningful event to be part of. We’re proud to support Focus on Home and its mission to combat furniture poverty and help people find “dignity, comfort and stability as they find their way forward.” Thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life!

Ten years of bringing Oklahoma City’s creative community together through food, art, and design. As Design Appétit celebrates its 10th anniversary, we had the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of an event that has become a meaningful tradition in our city, all in support of Focus on Home and the families they serve. Rooted in Focus on Home’s color palette, we developed a new brand identity designed to grow with the event for years to come. This year’s theme, In Full Spectrum, comes to life through DA20: 20 creative teams creating 20 immersive worlds, each bringing its own interpretation of color, design, and cuisine to the table. We’re proud to see this year’s event and the creative community behind it featured in Luxiere Magazine and The Oklahoman. Somewhere between light and shadow, PENUMBRA begins. Design Appétit celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with In Full Spectrum, an exploration of color through design, cuisine, art, and experience. For our second year collaborating with Chef Gabriel Lewis, we started with a single color: purple. From there came PENUMBRA, an exploration of the fleeting transition between day and night. Violet giving way to shadow. Heat meeting aged copper. Light breaking, shifting, and eventually disappearing. The environment will bring together Cooper House’s creative direction, Tim’s sculpture and light work, and a menu by Chef Gabriel that evolves alongside it. What that becomes in the room, we’ll save for October. Until then, consider this your first glimpse into PENUMBRA.
