Went on a solo date and somehow ended up having a lil girls’ day 🥹🎨💕

Such a cute time @paintandplantain ! Good food, drinks were hittinggg, a lil kiki with the girls at my table AND I left with my own hand-painted tote bag 🥰 Honestly such a fun date idea in Toronto whether you’re going solo, with your girls or with your boo.

And yes, I’m very proud of my little tote 😂🎨👜

Paint & Plantain Bim Pop-up was a success!!! To share the P&P experience with my hometown was truly an immense honour and my heart is full of gratitude from the overwhelming support we received!

From the decor all the way to the food, it was an event to remember 🥰

To the patrons and my community, thank you so so much for supporting P&P! From encouraging me to bring this home to showing up just to encourage me. Y'all bought tickets, shared the event around and showed up in your numbers. We had nuff laughs and y'all made some beautiful tote bags 🥺. I cannot thank you enough 🫂

Thank you deeply to the vendors for your support, encouragement and partnership:

Pressie's Catering
Infinite Events
The Parris Family
Sugar Bay Spa
GodBis Solutions
@glosbodyessentials
@metallicgraphicsmedia

I couldn't have done this without you and it really takes a village 🥰🩷

And to @izzydid.that, thank you for coming in clutch with post production 🥺

This is what Paint & Plantain is about: community and mine did not play about me! God blessed me with some amazing people fuh trut' 🩷

Barbados, should I come back? And Toronto!!! See you soon @sugarkanerestaurant on August 29th

Sometimes good things get a chance to flourish and bloom 🥰

When I started Paint & Plantain almost 3 years ago, I never would have thought that it would grow into what it is today🥺

What started as a yearn to bring community together has now become something beyond my wildest dreams. Paint & Plantain is bigger than me and it is through your support that it now has the space to flourish even more.

As the founder of P&P I wanted to reintroduce myself and what this transition will look like over the next few months. You're getting the same experience and hospitality that was under Design Geek Studios but elevated. Separating Paint and Plantain doesn't mean that anything will change, but it will allow Design Geek Studios to re focus on Graphic Design, Branding, etc. that it was initially known for

Thank you so much for sticking by me through it all and welcome to the Paint & Plantain Experience!

With Love,

Jobella (Founder & Facilitator)

My girl Joy invited me to SugarKane to get a little taste of what’s coming to Paint & Plantain and y’all… the food alone 🤤

Fish cakes with mango chutney, jerk chicken with rice & peas, coleslaw and plantain…everything was HITTING! And of course your girl had to get a spicy mango margarita too 😂🍹

I actually went to Paint & Plantain for my birthday and had such a good time! Joy made the painting so easy to follow, even step-by-step, so you can really just relax, paint, eat and enjoy the vibes. 🎨🌴

The next Paint & Plantain: Sweet Like SugarKane is happening August 29th from 12–3 PM at SugarKane on the Danforth. Your ticket includes the food you see in this video, paint supplies AND a tote bag!

🎟️ Tickets are available on Eventbrite, follow @designgeekstudios for more details.
