We had a great CX clinic with @femnthembikechi and @dykesonbicycles Sunday! It was such a fun time, with so many natural athletes! I love meeting new people, sharing in our passion of bikes, and helping to create more space for underrepresented groups in cycling.

Interested in racing and not sure where to start? Come to the Montrose CX race on December 8th! It’s the last race of the season but such a great vibe, and beginner friendly!

Nervous or not sure where to start, or how to approach the sport? Send me a DM! I’d be happy to help you navigate your first race and connect you with more of the racing community! There are lots of people who would love to share their passion for CX with you!

Need a bike? Please let me know! We have loaners and will absolutely help you get on the course!

Remember to check out @halfacrecycling ‘s race grant! They will cover race fees, and day license for BIPOC and WTF novice athletes!

So you really have no excuse not to! 😜

Final days in Copenhagen. I was sadly slowed down by a mild cold, but took opportunities wherever possible to enjoy parts of the city we haven't seen. Among them: vela, purportedly the only lesbian bar in Scandinavia; SSAM Korean Food Bar and Fiskerestaurant Hooked; and an excellent graffiti show outside the PALADS theater.

The most curious surprise was to be found at Tivoli Gardens, the third oldest amusement park in the world and one of Scandinavia's most popular attractions. Though almost 181 years old, it's charming, beautifully maintained, and has a diverse set of fun rides. I think some of the "Oriental" theming inherited from those earlier days will come across as awkward or politically incorrect; it sure did for me on first blush! My real shock, however, was discovering some serious attention to detail including beautiful calligraphy of classic Chinese poetry from the Northern Song and Tang Dynasties dotting that area of the park (credit to my Chinese lit teaching aunt for the info!). It's as if to say that if they must retain those choices of old, it must be done as correctly and respectfully as possible--likely at some cost, without discernible profit or other benefit. After all, how many park-goers would go to the trouble of finding out what these details mean like I did? It's an interesting, though hardly comprehensive, thesis about Danes and Denmark, which has only reinforced this Chinese-American visitor's respect. Hope to visit you again someday. ❤️🤍❤️

Day 5 and 6, LEGO House and LEGOLAND! While this part of the trip is more for Jo, I can honestly say it was both fun and interesting/educational. I didn't grow up with LEGO as a kid, but especially these days, I appreciate their emphasis on the importance and equity of play for all.

Copenhagen Day 3. The Designmuseum Danmark is so great--my first love is art but design is where rubber meets the road and the exhibits there provoke much thought.

noma, meanwhile, will take some more emotional and intellectual digesting--expect longer posts about this later but suffice to say, this is a peak I never thought I'd get to.

Copenhagen Day 1. So this part of the world has great weather and forever daylight this time of year, huh.
