Can you tell we had the best time at Design Matters 2026? We saw so many friends, enjoyed the design exhibitions at Set the Table, and did it all while supporting a fantastic cause! Until next year! #designmattersnc #trustcompanyofthesouth

Inspired by the fantastical creatures of the @thehaasbrothers and the theatrical extravagance of @tonyduquetteofficial , my Design Matters table was a playful collision of surrealism, folk art, and decorative excess. Oversized papier-mâché fruits and vegetables take on lives of their own, surrounded by rich textures like exaggerated fringe. Strange and decadent, it celebrates the beauty of not taking design (or life!!) too seriously.
There was a whole team of people contributing to this table. Many thanks to @sullivananlyan @elaine.anlyan @billanlyan @cvrdgolf @evanreidfurniture for helping me bring it to life and not totally choke. @bymelving for being my artist partner and contributing a gorgeous ebru to the event, @curatedeventsraleigh for the beautiful place settings and @eutopia.design for the gorgeous cut crystal glassware. Many thanks to @cameronrenfrow for being my sounding board, main boo, and the best documentarian around. Thank you @designmattersnc for having me once again. And remember, do not feed the monsters!

A little inspiration, a lot of permission! 🌷

Last week, I spent a Friday at Design Matters NC, and goodness, am I glad I did!

With The Cottage coming together, I left feeling inspired and reminded that a beautiful home should feel collected, not decorated in a hurry. And most importantly, the people we love aren’t waiting for our homes to be finished. They’re just waiting to be invited over!

Sharing a few favorite takeaways here, with even more on interiors, entertaining, and all the little details that make a house feel like home in this week’s Substack!

Read the full recap at the Substack link in my bio! 💌

When I saw my huge Tea Olive blooming in our yard last week, I knew they needed to make an appearance in my floral arrangements for my tablesetting at @designmattersnc. The rest of my beautiful flowers were from @fioredesignhouse and mixed with greenery from our yard. If you're local, and need some tea olive, I have enough to share so please come by to snip!🥰

Design Matters 2026 was such a special event! ✨ Purple Puddle was honored to be a Signature Sponsor and sponsor of the Keynote Luncheon, all in support of Fitch Pediatric Rehab Center.

A special shoutout to @designbytula for creating a beautiful tablescape featuring our Furstenberg collection. Tula’s table never disappoints!

Our pop-up shop was filled with seasonal favorites and plenty of mahjong must-haves. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and made this event so memorable! 🤍

As promised! The final products of our collaboration with @westonfarms for @designmattersnc’s keynote speaker welcome arrangements, and a little extra BTS mixed in 🍂🌸 We just love working with Erin and we had a blast incorporating florals with such unique finds from her farm. Which arrangement is your favorite?

This marks my fifth year participating in @designmattersnc, and while my contribution may be small, I like to think of it as mighty! This extraordinary event supports the @uncchildrens
@fitch_pediatric_rehab

This event holds a special place in my heart. Two of my three children have benefited from pediatric therapy services, so I know firsthand just how meaningful access to specialized care can be.

October is SUCH a busy month for wedding and event florists, and stepping away for just 24 hours to surround myself with talented colleagues in the floral industry is a much-needed reprieve.

Thank you to @debrazinninteriors and @myrakjester and @lindsaysspeace for finding me and reaching out five years ago!

Another successful year for @designmattersnc and their Set The Table event, all for a great cause! Our very own Cameron Flythe designed this elegant tablescape, and we loved being part of such a special event! 💐🍽️
