A series of inspiring visits to Designtex in Portland! ✨

We had the pleasure of bringing together New England designers with @redthreadspaces for a behind-the-scenes look at the Designtex Digital Studio and its local printing capabilities.

From exploring the creative process to seeing how innovative printing technology brings ideas to life, these visits highlighted the possibilities of designing with customization, craftsmanship, and local expertise in mind.

A big thank you to the @designtex_inc team for welcoming us and sharing a closer look at how design innovation happens right here in our region!

Beguiled by the Wild spotted at @salinapubliclibrary 📚 this space was beautifully designed by @huttonbuilds 🐞

Charley Harper’s ‘Beguiled by the Wild’ is an artfully rendered bevy of beasts, bugs, fish, fowl, and foliage, arranged like the interlocking pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, all sketched in clean lines against a vivid single-color background. Originally created by Harper in 1994, Designtex’s collection based on this work explores how vivid color and vibrant imagery can contribute to better healing outcomes in the healthcare environment, and indeed enhanced wellbeing in any space. #charleyharper @designtex_inc

The Collected Flat, Part 2: the details that made this living room feel like home.

A room is not finished when every surface is filled. It comes together when the materials, artwork, furniture, and small decisions begin to relate to one another.

For this space, that meant creating original art, reupholstering two existing ottomans, and layering in pieces that added color, texture, and function without losing the room’s sense balance and negative space.

I wanted the finished space to feel collected rather than overly matched. And personal, rather than copied.

That is the balance I look for in every project at Austin Seeley Interiors: honoring what already has meaning, introducing what is needed, and shaping a home around the people who live there.

Save this for ideas on creating a living room that feels layered and personal.

Design: @austinseeleyinteriorsphilly

Believe it or not, this Philadelphia living room began as an empty white box, and I didn’t replace everything.

Welcome to The Collected Flat, my own Old City living room transformation and latest completed interior design project.

Instead of starting over, I looked carefully at what was worth keeping and built thoughtfully from there. Over several months, I reworked the space plan, sourced new pieces, created original artwork, reupholstered two ottomans, and layered color, texture, and pattern until the room felt balanced, vibrant, and personal.

I kept some pieces and reimagined others. And added new elements in where they added function, personality, or both.

This is how I approach full-service residential interior design in Philadelphia and beyond: I begin with how you live, what you already love, and what your home needs to do better for you. Then I create a sustainable, livable interior that feels distinctly yours.

Save this if you’re planning a room transformation of your own, or send it to someone who thinks a beautiful new space means starting completely over.

And this is just Part 1 of The Collected Flat reveal! There’s so much more to share, so stay tuned for Part 2 coming soon.

Is October the best month? It’s making a pretty strong case. 🌠

Deep blues, warm metallics, organic textures and just the right amount of shimmer.

Swipe to see how this month’s visual moodboard translates into our material and finish palette.
