LCC THROUGH OUR LENS — PART 2 🇬🇧

What we loved most was seeing a place where ideas are constantly being tested, questioned and transformed into something visual, meaningful and relevant.

From studio corners and workspaces to the energy of the campus itself, every detail gave us a better sense of what it means to study in a truly creative environment.

Sometimes, understanding a college is less about reading the course description and more about experiencing the space where the work actually happens.

The quiet part of the process is happening right now.
While most people are still talking about “starting the portfolio,” our students are in the final stretch — refining, editing, sequencing and compiling.

Touch-ups on sketches that already work. Reordering pages so the story reads clearly. Making sure every project shows process, not just the finished piece.

This is the stage that actually matters before the early decision and early consideration windows for UAL, Istituto Marangoni and the other international programmes. The work has already been done. Now it’s about clarity, confidence and presentation.

Portfolios don’t get stronger by adding more. They get stronger by knowing what to keep, what to tighten and when to stop.
We’re right there with them.

Every great fashion portfolio begins with an original idea, but what truly matters is how that idea is brought to life.

Meet Aanya Seth, one of our aspiring fashion designers at Desizn Circle International, who recently completed a fashion photoshoot featuring her very own garment collection as part of her portfolio preparation for Istituto Marangoni.

From developing her initial concepts and exploring design possibilities to creating her own garments and finally bringing the collection to life through a thoughtfully planned photoshoot, Aanya has taken her creative vision one step further.

Why is this process so important?

A strong fashion portfolio is not simply a collection of beautiful photographs or finished garments. It is a reflection of a student’s individuality, creative thinking, experimentation, technical understanding and ability to translate an idea into a tangible outcome.

When applying to leading international design institutions, your portfolio should communicate YOUR ideas, YOUR creative process and YOUR design identity.

Universities want to understand how you think as a designer, what inspires you, how you experiment, and how confidently you can develop a concept into an original creative outcome.
