This week on the podcast, we spoke with hypnotist and hypnosis instructor Désirée Expert about how our attention is extracted from us in everyday life and how we can reclaim it. We discuss the infinite scroll, nicotine cravings, prescription drug commercials, The Twilight Zone intro sequence, Cheez-It’s, hate-reading IG comments, the Folgers jingle, and other examples of how hypnotic inductions and trance states appear in advertising and on our screens. Tune in at the link in bio.

If you’re looking to build a more engaged relationship with your dreams. Here’s a beginner tarot spread formed around inquiry. How can my dreams support me? Start with the first card. This is your theme of the dream, the context. Second card. Who will be there to support me? This is your dream guide. Third Card The main message coming through Fourth Card - how you show up in the dream. Recognize yourself by your energy, even if it’s not your physical form. Fifth Card What’s coming towards you. Pure potential Yours to claim or return. Next step: Start a dream journal. Often these messages make sense later. Looking for more? I created this spread, inspired by @desmerized dream salon at Sleepwalk this Wednesday! Follow us both for future meetups and explore all her offerings on dreams 😴 It’s an amazing mind apothecary. 🍃 #dreamwork #sleepwalk #sacralsystems #tarotspreads

😵‍💫 Every day we slip into trance, hypnotized via doomscroll, zoning out in meetings, or losing track of time texting What if we learned to enter trance states that enhanced our agency, rather than eroding it? In HYPNOTIC AUTONOMY, we will consider the framework of hypnotic trance as a form of resistance to human fracking. Through guided exercises, demonstrations, and group practices, we will critically situate hypnosis traditions within a broader cultural context, experience trance phenomena firsthand, and explore their uses for creativity and self-direction. How might reclaiming our attention through trance become a technique for greater agency in an age of human fracking — one that brings us closer to a world we choose? Led by hypnosis educator Désirée Eckert. 🔗 Enroll via the link in bio! #hypnosis #spiritual #AttentionActivism #consciousness
