first month of vet school according to my camera roll 🩺🐾😭

just a lil dump of studying, working, questioning my life choices, my brain constantly on 100, much-needed nap breaks, new friendships, random laughs & somehow continuing to show up through it all 😂

month 1 dump because somehow I survivedddd 🤭

I guess it’s time to officially introduce the girl behind the journey. 🩺🐾

I’m Destinae’, a first-year veterinary student at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2030. 💜💛

I created this page to document the real journey to becoming a veterinarian. The learning, the late nights, the little wins, the “what did I get myself into?” moments 😂, and everything in between.

My interests include mixed animal medicine, animal nutrition, and research, but I’m keeping an open mind as vet school shows me just how many directions this career can take me. 🐄🔬

Most importantly, I hope this page becomes something I can look back on one day and see just how far I’ve come, while maybe inspiring someone else along the way.

So here’s to Year 1, figuring it out as I go, and becoming the veterinarian I’m destined to be. 🤎

The journey to DVM starts here. ✨

🌟 Congratulations to our very own Destinae Davis from Lebeau, Louisiana! 🌟 As a senior majoring in Agricultural Science with a Pre-Veterinary Medicine concentration and a minor in Nutrition, she was selected as a 2025 Farm Bureau MANRRS Fellow! 🎉
Destinae recently attended the American Farm Bureau Federation Conference in Denver, CO, where she engaged in critical discussions on mental health in agriculture, the farm bill, and navigating tough ag topics in college. This experience provided an invaluable networking opportunity, allowing her to connect with industry leaders, gain insight from top professionals, and build relationships that will shape her future in agriculture and veterinary medicine. 🌱🐾
