Why Gallo: I chose Gallo because I really felt like it was a company where I could grow, not just professionally but personally too. I really liked the structure of the program and the opportunity to start from the ground up and work my way through each phase. Honestly, everyone I met during the recruitment process spoke so highly of Gallo, and that really stuck with me. I wanted to work for a reputable company with great people and somewhere I could genuinely see myself building a career. Once I learned more about the program and met the people, I could really see myself here.

Philosophy:
I like to keep pitching simple, intentional, and individualized. I believe every athlete is different, and I tailor my coaching to their specific needs, level & goals. Beyond developing strong mechanics and consistency, I focus on building confidence and helping athletes trust themselves in the bullpen and in competition. Most importantly, I value building genuine relationships with my athletes and getting to know them beyond the game. My goal is to develop not only better pitchers, but confident athletes who can carry those skills both on and off the field.

Destin is available for pitching lessons Wed & Thurs 7-9p beginning Sep 9th. Her availability is open to be booked on MindBody under the “appointments” tab.

A huge THANK YOU to every player, parent, coach, and instructor who came out and made this camp such a success. Watching these athletes compete, learn, and grow is exactly why we do what we do.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to pour into the next generation, and this is only the beginning. More camps, more development, and more opportunities are on the way.

Part 18 | What I Wish I Knew Series

I’m asking athletes one question: What do you wish you knew sooner about playing softball seriously?

One of the hardest challenges an athlete can face is feeling like their playing time defines their value. It’s easy to believe that if you’re not on the field, you’re not good enough.

But playing time and talent are not the same thing.

As you move to higher levels of competition, everyone around you is talented. Your role may change, but your ability, your work ethic, and your potential don’t disappear because of where your name is on the lineup card.

I love the reminder in this response: don’t let your role make you lose confidence in who you are. Keep preparing. Keep learning. Keep showing up. Opportunities often come when you least expect them, and you’ll want to be ready when they do.

Trust the gifts you’ve been given. Trust the work you’ve put in. And remember that your value as an athlete and as a person is never determined by the number of innings you play.

Looking back on my first year at UGA, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and joy. This year was filled with endless blessings, new adventures, hard work, unforgettable memories, amazing friendships, fun trips home, and so so much growth. Team 30 became more than just a team—it became a family. They welcomed a small-town South Georgia girl with open arms as she navigated being away from home for the first time.
Through every challenge, opportunity, and milestone, I’ve seen the Lord’s faithfulness and grace every step of the way. I’m so thankful for this first year and proud to call UGA home. Here’s to the memories made and the years to come. So excited for what’s ahead! Go Dawgs! ❤️🖤❤️🐾
