Today, Mayor Mary Sheffield and the Detroit Land Bank Authority celebrated 67 Detroiters receiving the deeds to their homes through the 10th Annual Buy Back Ceremony.

The DLBA’s Buy Back program helps Detroiters with a documented connection to a DLBA property turn that connection into homeownership, stability and a stronger neighborhood.

Since the program began, more than 1,400 Detroiters have received their deeds — creating more homeowners and helping families build a future right here in Detroit.

From workshops and tax compliance support to ongoing community engagement, Detroit is helping residents not only become homeowners, but stay homeowners. 🔑

Homeownership is about more than a deed. It’s about building a future in the city you call home.
