I’ve known this woman my whole life. So trust me when I say this transformation goes FAR beyond the 2 stone she lost.

She’s my sister after all. ❤️

I’ve watched the all-or-nothing diets.
The busy life.
The “I’m on it” and then “sod it”.

But i’ve also got to watch her take real ownership of her health and happiness.

She still holidays.
She still has her wine (😜).
She still enjoys her food.

She just knows the rules of the game now.

And my God, can you see it radiating from her.

I might have had a wee hand in showing her the way…

But she did THIS.

And watching someone you love do that for themselves?

I’ll never stop being proud of her.

🧠 Why does giving make us feel good? And can helping others actually improve our own wellbeing?

We are delighted to welcome Dr Tom Hannan, Chartered Psychologist and Clinical Director of @donegalpsychology
Donegal Psychology Centre
in Dungloe, to Donegal Giving’s Footprints of Giving.

Having studied and worked for many years in Australia, Tom brings experience across psychology, research, university teaching and community health.

His work strongly reflects the importance of connection, community and looking out for one another, values that sit right at the heart of Donegal Giving.

At Footprints of Giving, Tom will explore the psychology of giving, looking at how acts of generosity and altruism can benefit not only those receiving support, but also our own psychological wellbeing.

He will also highlight the importance of social connection and community, and how supporting others can help create healthier, more connected and resilient communities.
