DEVIN DI DAKTA, WORDS YOU CAN ALMOST SEE! 🎤🔥🇯🇲

Devin Di Dakta’s ability to paint vivid pictures with words deserves appreciation. His delivery makes you feel like you’re watching every line unfold, with each expression adding life to the story.

The beauty of storytelling is making an audience picture a scene, feel an emotion and anticipate what comes next. That is the talent we’re celebrating, the way an artiste can use words, timing and personality to hold your attention.

Dancehall has so much creativity worth highlighting, and Devin Di Dakta’s way with words gives us another reason to celebrate the craft. At One Umbrella Sports & Entertainment, we believe talent like this deserves its flowers. 🙌🏾☂️

Swipe to see, listen closely and tell us which line painted the clearest picture for you! ➡️🔥

Special thanks to @1mellovibes and @devindidakta for the video. Much respect from One Umbrella Sports & Entertainment! 🙏🏾🇯🇲

Looking back at 2015, we revisit a moment in Devin Di Dakta’s journey that reflects the talent, lyrical ability, and stage presence that have continued to define his artistry throughout the years.

His performance on Magnum Kings & Queens remains a reminder of the dedication, passion, and commitment required to build a name in Jamaica’s competitive music industry.

From his command of the stage to his distinctive approach to lyricism, Devin has consistently demonstrated an appreciation for the craft and a determination to establish himself as an artist with a voice of his own.

Moments like these are important to revisit, not simply for the nostalgia, but because they allow us to appreciate the journey behind the artist we continue to see developing today.

Every performance, every opportunity, and every experience contributes to the bigger picture, and this throwback gives us another opportunity to recognize the work that has gone into his career.

As we look back on this chapter, we also look forward to what lies ahead, with new music, new opportunities and a new era on the horizon.

Devin Di Dakta gives fans & supporters a preview of a potential upcoming release on Shakespeare’s "Mirror Mirror Riddim"

But this time, he’s stepping outside of his usual sound and tapping into his R&B side.

This preview gives listeners a glimpse of a different musical direction, blending a smoother vibe with a sound that could offer something fresh to his catalogue.

Should he take the risk and give us the full track, or is this one better left in the vault? 🤔

LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS —
SHOULD DEVIN DI DAKTA DROP IT OR TRASH IT?

Grammy-Nominated, Billboard Recording Artist & Writer Devin Di Dakta has entered Grammy consideration across five categories with his album OMEGA 11 and two singles, “So Beautiful” and “Safe Haven: Mash Up,” marking another significant milestone in his professional music journey.

The album OMEGA 11 has been submitted for consideration in Best Reggae Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The project represents a meaningful chapter in Devin’s career, with its title connecting to his eleventh year as a professional recording artist. Beyond its musical content, the album’s consideration in an engineering category also draws attention to the technical craft and sound quality that contribute to a finished recording.

The single “So Beautiful” has entered consideration in Best Global Music Performance and Record of the Year. Its placement across these categories highlights both its performance as a musical work and the overall recording. Best Global Music Performance recognizes excellence in recordings rooted in musical traditions and expressions from around the world, while Record of the Year focuses on the artistic and technical achievement of a recording.

Meanwhile, “Safe Haven: Mash Up” has been submitted for consideration in Song of the Year, a category that recognizes excellence in songwriting. Unlike Record of the Year, which evaluates the finished recording, Song of the Year places particular emphasis on the composition, including the lyrics and melody.

For Devin Di Dakta, the submissions represent more than a collection of category entries. They reflect an ongoing commitment to songwriting, performance, recording quality and the continued development of Jamaican music on the international stage 🩷

SAINT KINGSTON celebrates this milestone as part of Devin Di Dakta’s artistic journey. The label remains committed to developing meaningful creative work, supporting independent artistry and expanding the reach of Jamaican music to audiences across the world 🌍

FIVE categories, TWO singles, ONE album.
A continuing journey in Jamaican music

In the name of art.

Before the Grammy nomination, the hit songs, the recognition and everything else that has come to define the journey, there was a young talent at St. Mary High School with a passion for music and a vision that was already beginning to take shape.

For this week’s Throwback Thursday, we’re taking it back to the early days - a glimpse into a chapter of Devin Di Dakta’s journey that helped lay the foundation for the artist he would soon become.

And at SAINTkingstonMUSIC, we believe in celebrating the history behind the music just as much as the music itself. As we continue building into the next chapter, we’ll always take a moment to acknowledge where it all started.

This is the start of a journey,
This is the history,
This is Devin Di Dakta....
