POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! Just a stack of edges in a spooky, ooky fallen mossy tree because I love spooky ooky fallen mossy trees.

Super excited because I get to see VE Schwab tonight on their Victorious tour! I feel like authors on tour usually go to STL over Kansas City, so I am super excited. I've had a busy morning trying to get work done so I can bail early. 🤫

Who's an author you would love to see on tour? I feel like theyre finally starting to get more common again after Covid or maybe just being on booksta means I see them all advertised now.

Orr have you decorated for fall yet? I keep being busy on the weekends alas.

Autumn 🍂 stack

@neon.novella tagged me in an autumn stack. There is something special about fall. The air gets more crisp, sweaters and fires make life more cozy and we all throw candy at begging children.

What is your favorite thing about fall?

Hi friends! Happy #favoritefriday . I don't love that IG didn't want me to post earlier today, but I do love this book. I love Katherine Arden's writing. I love historical fantasy. I love yearning. I love folklore. I love this @goldsborobooks edition. I love how these photos turned out because I love moss and birch trees.

It's been a hot minute, but this book is ripe for a 1 book, 3 quotes challenge.

📚 Louis had seen renderings of unicorns, of course. Deer-headed, goat-footed, a lion's tail, a curling mane. But a drawing could not capture this. A tapestry could not render it. A stillness louder than cries of wonder fell over the group. The unicorn walked as though in a summer's day, with the light pouring through the horn, though there was only moonlight. Though it was dark, the white of her coat seemed to carry faint color, a trace of pink, lavender, green. An absent sun glowed on her skin.

📚 The courage of the body— the courage of a tree-climbing child or a hunter coursing neck-or-nothing after a stag— had never been Anne’s. Isabeau had always been bolder in that way. When she was old enough, perhaps she would pursue the stag from the front of the galloping pack, heedless of danger, reveling in her speed and skill.
Anne preferred facing dangers that could be bested with the mind alone.
But some courage is born of wild necessity.

📚 "I will not let anything happen to you."
It was a promise he could not be sure of keeping. Even if this between them was love, the thing poets described, it could not stop armies or fate or the capricious will of God. And yet she let herself be comforted by it.

Have you read this one? It seems to be love or hate, but Katherine Arden just works for me.

Or anything you're trying to finish up this weekend before September ends?

Hi friends! HAPPY DEAD BEAT DAY!!

The long-awaited conclusion is here, and I'm excited, scared, nervous. I can't wait to see how it ends and so sad that this is going to be the end.

Are you celebrating today/this week?

Ooorrr, what's the most excited you've ever been for a book release?

I'm off to keep reading. 15 pages in, and im already so scared.

"Death was here at last and he was beautiful."

And no, I dont have enough copies. 🤭

Friday Flatlay

@anxikitkatreads tagged me in this awesome Flatlay that only features fantasy books by women. Since I prefer paper backs, I knew this would be easy. I actually only had room to do the first in a series.

If you haven’t read some of these yet, I highly suggest you add them to your list.

🐢 Turtle Thursday 🐢

This is where you show me a picture of a turtle 🐢

Here is a baby painted turtle I caught this summer (and of course let go but not after we bonded over our love of worms and swimming and challenging the norm)

Tagging some of you amazing people who I know would want nothing more than to bring me your personal turtle photos (that I KNOW you have) so just hand them over and no one will get hurt, belittled, or stir fried 🥰

Bonus: Terry Pratchett because what says turtle more than a Terry Pratchett book 🐢

How about an August #stack brought to you by the Welsh name for it? Awst!

I read a book called “Among Others” by Jo Walton a long time ago and I don’t remember much other than liking it a lot and enjoying Welsh words showing up here and there. @fantasy_readers_corner read a book set in Wales and I remembered Jo Walton’s.

I decided to continue the Iliad and Odyssey with the 3rd book from the set - The Aeneid translated by Robert Fagles.

Wrath by @john_gwynne_author - because I could see him chucking some Welsh inspired things into his books and I’m about to start Wolves of War.

Jim Butcher’s Skin Game as a nod to the cover of Lions of Fire by @brittanyranewauthor from yesterday and because I’m reading Wax and Wayne by @brandsanderson .

Thrawn Ascendancy (well ok it’s a bit of a cheat because it’s not the book name 🤣) because I would really like to get to Heir to the Empire and start reading some Star Wars books!

If you know any books that would go along with these, let me know!

Thanks for the tag @boo.bitchcraft.books !
