After a very intense August it feels a little strange not to be rushing around flowering a wedding this weekend! It’ll take a few weeks to decompress & for my brain to adjust to a touch of normality (whatever that is!!) and by that time I’ll be back to the weddings again! That is just the cycle of a self employed wedding florist 😂💛✂️ photo @devonportraitphotographer #weddingflorist #devonflorist #weddingflowers #somersetflorist #somersetweddingflorist

Is this not the dream job as a wedding florist?! Flowering outside with the finest blooms late summer has to offer, creating a meadow aisle under a chestnut tree 🤎 @devonportraitphotographer captured our work in progress from containers to a beautiful overflowing, natural statement aisle @huntshamcourt @hylandweddings #weddingflorist #devonflorist #weddingflowers #somersetflorist #huntshamcourt

As promised... proof that I do occasionally step in front of the camera! 😅 I'll happily spend hours making other people feel relaxed during a shoot, but ask me to be the one being photographed and suddenly I remember exactly how my clients feel. That's why this photo swap with @devonportraitphotographer was such a good reminder. Being photographed can feel surprisingly vulnerable. Most of us worry about what to do with our hands, whether we're smiling too much (or not enough!), or whether we'll recognise ourselves in the final images. It's also why I care so much about creating a relaxed experience. I truly believe that relaxed subjects make photogenic subjects. I want you recognise your best self in your pictures, not cringe at how awkward you found the whole experience. My aim is simply to help people forget about the camera long enough to be themselves. These portraits were taken by the wonderfully talented Fee, and I've edited them in my own style. It was fascinating seeing myself through someone else's lens while still giving the images a little bit of my own signature look. A huge thank you, Fee, for gently coaxing me out from behind the camera. It was every bit as strange as I expected... but also a lot of fun and so worthwhile. #portraitphotographyexeter #exeterfamilyphotographer #devonphotographer

This was a little different for me... After months of chatting on Instagram, @devonportraitphotographer and I finally met in person for a photographer swap. We each took turns behind (and, rather nervously, in front of!) the camera. I'll share the photos she took of me in my next post, but today it's all about Fee. One of the lovely things about meeting another portrait photographer is discovering that, despite spending our lives photographing other people, we're often just as uncomfortable having our own picture taken. I think that's exactly why we both understand how our clients feel. Fee specialises in branding photography for creative businesses, and she's brilliant at helping people relax enough to let their personality shine through. She creates portraits that feel natural, genuine and completely "them"—something I always admire. It was such a lovely morning spent chatting (or perhaps geeking out!) over coffee about photography, creativity and business, and I came away feeling inspired. If you're a creative looking for branding photography, do go and have a look at @devonportraitphotographer work. Her portraits are full of personality. And yes... next time you'll get to see me on the other side of the camera! #devonportraitphotographer #exeterportraitphotographer #exeterphotographer #exeterbrandphotographer #headshots

Fee @devonportraitphotographer popped out on Friday and took this. As promised, me in a clean shirt with garden trousers and boots seemingly hidden. We have a very few special people with photos over the door, which we chainsawed across to turn it quickly into a stable door! I’m recovering from a back and knee injury so no dancing around today, but flowers to pick for an order so a bit of hobbling around. We are quietly tucked away which is just how we like it. #askforprovenance #theforgottengarden #workshops #growingabouquet #northdevon #ilfracombe #combemartin #exmoor

Rounding off our International Women’s Photography Day series is the incredible Felicity (@devonportraitphotographer). Felicity’s work is a tribute to the women behind the brands—the makers, the creators, and the visionaries across Devon. With a goal of bringing the “woman behind the work” into the spotlight, her photography is all about celebrating craft, values, and the privilege of being part of someone’s story. Over to you, Felicity... “I’m Felicity, I photograph the creative people building brands in Devon and the majority of them are truly inspiring women who care deeply about their craft and their values. My goal is to help them stand out from behind their brand name and show the woman behind the hard work. And it’s a total privilege. If you’re thinking of picking up a camera & recording your life, the people in it and the beauty of this county we call home… do it. I promise you, you won’t regret it.” Felicity’s encouragement is the perfect note to end on. Photography isn’t just about the “pro” shot; it’s about recording the life and the beauty that surrounds us every day. Inspired by Felicity, Annemieke, and Brynn? The Photo Club Devon is more than just a camera club; it’s a supportive community where women of all skill levels come together to share their passion. Whether you’re a seasoned brand photographer or just starting to document your life in Devon, there’s a seat at the table for you. Drop us a DM if you’d like to learn more. #InternationalWomensPhotographyDay #WomenInBusinessDevon #DevonCreatives #WomenInPhotography

As we begin 2026, our goal here at Wildings remains the same; to create beautiful branding and websites that feel considered, strategic and quietly confident. If you’ve found our studio, welcome. This year I want to take you behind the scenes as I create a new studio website, share more of my process and tips about branding and design along the way. #branddesigneruk #brandstudio #smallbusinessuk
