Friday Five 📚✨ Five bookish creators whose content I never skip:

@ramsrambles — Her content is incredible! Well edited, well researched, so thoughtful and intelligent, AND she produces it so frequently to the same incredibly high standard that I am just in awe. Like, she is the best of us. Go follow her!

@nomesreadsnooks — I am so grateful for all of the nonfiction reads he has turned me onto, and I am always delighted to hear his thoughts about a book. Every single take is nuanced, thoughtful, contextualized and situated within his vast wealth of knowledge AND the storytelling is always on point.

@devonshookmark — We have similar taste but it’s just different enough that she’s always getting me to add new reads to my TBR. She has the best energy and it feels like I’m listening to a friend tell me about a book when I watch her videos, it’s just the best.

@matthewloveshooks — We have VERY aligned taste and he reads a ton of literary fiction! Which is getting me more excited and less intimidated to dive into more challenging titles. I trust his judgement COMPLETELY and I’m writing in CAPITALS so you should know that I MEAN IT 🤣

@iffysreads — She gives thoughtful (spoiler free) recaps that are so succinct and incredibly helpful. She reads a ton of eclectic genres, but I find the way she discusses plot, character and world building in sci-fi and fantasy so helpful, especially relative to the length of the works. So glad I found her!

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine seeing my book sitting on the shelves alongside so many talented authors and powerful stories.

I’m incredibly humbled and honored that No More Dancing is now part of the collection at @litjava Bookstore. As someone who wrote this book from a place of vulnerability, healing, and reflection, it means the world to know that its message is being shared in spaces that value literature, learning, and community.

Purple bookstack 💜📚 my good friend @meeshireads is going through a tough time with Lupus, which is an autoimmune disorder.

HAPPY PUB DAY @elle.andthebooks 🎊🥂

🗣💬"There is another self here too — bruised, yes, but intact"

I love a story of female rage and revenge, so add onto it, the bonus of a famously overlooked character, getting a satisfying retelling and you are in for an absolute ride.

This story is delivered with an an honest voice and does a great job of taking us on an emotional rollercoaster.
One minute I was swelling with fury and the next, I was exhaling in relief.

The thing I really enjoyed about this one was how easy it was to devour — there was no point in which I found myself disinterested or needed the pace to pick. I think it did a wonderful job of portraying it's time and it explored themes of queer joy, found family and redemption exquisitely.

It's such a treat when you can see how an author's storytelling has evolved throughout their works and this one is honestly such an easy masterpiece.

It's sad and introspective and and infuriating but also full of bright warm moments of truth and joy.

Big ups @thebookishmindset for the rec and thank you @harpernorthuk for indulging my scrounging got a proof (it's also worth noting I have used a credit for the audiobook which makes for such a good listen!)
