An Alki Adventure! The prisms were popping and the good vibes were flocking! Anytime you can hop on a ferry and soak up the summer vibes in Seattle is a real treat in my book. Especially in West Seattle which holds such a sacred and very different radiation than the rest of the city. To me the energy around Alki feels expansive, fun, carefree, laid-back and welcoming...like a total breath of fresh air in contrast to the hustle and bustle and density of downtown.
☀️🌈 🎨🛥️
You can hop on the West Seattle foot ferry from the downtown waterfront for under $6 and arrive at Alki beach in about 15 minutes. From there, you can grab kayak, rent a bike or blades or stroll the beautiful beach walkway and admire views of the city. My sister and I made the 4 mile trek on foot there and back with lots of stops along the way to check out the Alki Art Fair. A delightful outing that felt like a legit beach vacation in our own hometown!
☀️🌈🎨🛥️
Do you have a favorite summer stay-cation outing you like to enjoy in your own city?

The healing powers of LIVE MUSIC ~ this Modality Monday, let’s move and groove alongside our fellow souls to diverse frequencies and forms of expression that help us connect, release, enliven, inspire and delight on so many levels!
🎶
There’s something so fundamental, powerful and undeniable about groups of people together, listening to music and being moved by the sounds.
🎶
Studies have shown that attending live music has profound impacts on the body’s physiological systems and can reduce levels of cortisol, the primary stress hormone and increase dopamine and oxytocin levels (the pleasure and bonding hormones of the brain). Other studies show that listening to live music is a potent workout for the brain, enhancing neuroplasticity, and increasing activity in the amygdala, the central region for emotional processing.
🎶
Since we were in strollers, my siblings and I have been going to @bumbershoot and enjoying the electric music and arts festival. After a brain injury, there were a few years I skipped going due to the stress and sensory overload of a festival setting but I’m grateful to be back in the mix and rocking out in my own unique ways. With a doctors note, I was able to bring in all the essentials (cell salts, homeopathics, cacao, salt & supplements baggies, a protein shake, sun umbrella, earplugs, blackout mask and essential oils). I found even some special mushroom lined trees with shade to help block flashing lights, enjoy the music and soak in their grounding energies.
🎶
Major pros to all the ways bumbershoot and @seattlecenter supported accessibility for all...they had dedicated ADA spaces toward the front of stages, sensory stimulation kits, signs about the use of flashing lights and even a quiet room where people could go chill out.
🎶
I’m crushing on live music big time! What’s your favorite thing about concerts?

Cherry blossom girls ~ soaking up the most magical radiations of these iconic symbols of spring...sparking feelings of freshness, joy, inspiration, renewal and love.
🌸✨🌸
These Yoshino cherry trees @uwcherryblossom are approximately 90 years old and were always the perfect excuse for being late to class!
🌸✨🌸
If you’re local to Seattle and courageous enough to brave the crowds, nothing beats the sweet scent of white blossoms wafting across the quad...the buzz of drones circling overhead, flashing cameras, families squeezing together for the perfect picture, couples canoodling on benches and picnic blankets, everyone clamoring for a selfie...best people watching around but of course the main draw are the sacred trees!
🌸✨🌸
A message one tree wanted to share...”Our beauty is a reflection of the beauty within you..each and everyone of you, all created in the ultimate divine image of source, brilliant, beautiful, expansive, infinite potential and eternal love. Come sit with me and connect with the joyous vibrations of the spring season.” ~One particularly chatty Cheery Blossom 😉
What’s your favorite spring blossom?

Navigating a music festival, live event or crowded place can be a lot for the nervous system to handle - especially if you’re a highly sensitive person or dealing with any kind of health challenges.
🎶 🎉 ☀️
For me, post brain injury, there’s a lot of prep work and recovery time needed but the fun of discovering new music, scoping out wild festival outfits and dancing the day away is totally worth it!
🎶🎉☀️
In this post, I’ll share a few concert going essentials that help me and can hopefully support you too!
🎶🎉☀️
At any show, you’ll find my pockets overflowing with...

-Bioplasma (a homeopathic remedy that helps calm the nerves and give the body’s electrical system the fuel it needs to properly fire)
-ear plugs (of all kinds to account for differing sounds settings)
-essential oils (Nuero M and Nuero Speed by @neo_myalo to increase blood flow to the brain, improve energy and calm the nerves)
-crystals (tigers eye and smokey quartz are go-tos for energetic protection and an elevated frequency)
-Energy Enhancer (phototherapy patches by @lifewavecorporate applied to acupuncture points to increase ATP production)
-Neuro Cacao by @neo_myalo (supports adrenals and blood flow to the brain)
-a baggie of salt (for energetic protection and boosting blood pressure)
-plant support (a dried leaf or flower, I like hawthorn for heart opening or thistle for protection (although this one can be a bit spikey!)
-migraine glasses or a black tshirt to cover your eyes to avoid flashing lights which can quickly cause sensory overload
-bone broth packets (a hydrating snack to support your adrenal response throughout the event)
-a scarf (energetically, the neck is a very sensitive part of the body so covering it up can help you feel safe and grounded)
-water bottle (sips of water reset the autonomic nervous system so can be helpful in a stimulating environment)
-UV umbrella (for sun sensitivity and to create a shady nook wherever you go)
🎶🎉☀️
There’s a lot more to share so keep your eyes peeled for additional tips & tricks in a separate post
🎶🎉☀️
I’d love to hear from you, let me know in the comments below - what helps support you when going to festivals or live events?
