The University of Waterloo School of Architecture presents Masterworks 2026, an annual showcase of exemplary graduate student thesis projects.

This year’s exhibition, A Room of One’s Home, curated by alumna Bianca Weeko Martin, brings together graduate and alumni research exploring architecture, diaspora, memory, and cultural knowledge.

Through drawings, publications, artifacts, and architectural research, the exhibition considers how ideas of home are carried across places and generations. The works explore architecture’s potential to reconnect people with landscapes, histories, and identities, while creating space for exchange, reflection, and renewed belonging.

Join us in celebrating the work of Ricardo Espinoza, Hyjnid (Nidi) Metaj, Angeline Reyes, Giulia Simonetta, Zaven Titizian, and Hiba Hasan Zubairi.

On view July 23 - October 1 at Waterloo Architecture

Our sincere thanks to Diamond Schmitt @diamondschmittarchitects for its continued support of Masterworks and for helping provide a platform for emerging designers and researchers.

📢 Call for Submissions: Artist Roster for Public Art Opportunities @ DEXD, Toronto 📢

Are you interested in bringing your artwork to public buildings?

DEXD is building a database of artists to support future opportunities that integrate art into the built environment. This includes public art, site-responsive work, and collaborations with architects, designers, and community partners.

Artists working across all media and disciplines, at any stage of their practice—from emerging to established—including those with and without prior experience producing or installing public art, are welcome. The database is intended to reflect the diversity of artistic approaches and lived experiences across the region.

While artists based in the Greater Toronto Area will be prioritized, DEXD encourages all interested artists to participate. Selected artists may be contacted for commissions, shortlists, collaborations, or other creative opportunities as they arise.

Deadline: March 31, 2026

For more information and how to submit, please visit the link in bio.
