ON THE VLOG // An Annual Tradition: Time for Reflection & Review
✨✨✨✨✨
Today’s episode of Taking Back Friday is focused on this one practice that I’ve been doing for about ten years now and a practice that I want to share with you. I was inspired by a recent video by filmmaker Matt D’Avella called “Watch This Before You Die” where he talked about the importance of making bucket lists. It made me think of the “vision & goals” reflection that I’ve been doing every year and how it’s helped me tackle the big things that I’ve wanted to tackle in my life. This practice has been so fundamental to setting direction and focus for my energy in both personal and professional life that I really felt compelled to share it with you, so that it might help you too.

This is the last video or vlog that I’m making for this decade and it’s crazy to reflect on how SweetGeorgia and I have changed over the past ten years. In the photo here, you’ll see the photo of all of us at our holiday dinner at Nuba — our team at SweetGeorgia, including all the spouses and partners, and this year also including the instructors that have joined us to create content for the School of SweetGeorgia. What a blessing to work together with this incredible group of people. That, in and of itself, is a dream come true.

From the SweetGeorgia team and myself, we are wishing you the warmest and most wonderful holiday season. We hope you have plenty of time to spend with your family and friends… and also plenty of time to Knitflix and rest. And if you’re interested, you can join me during the downtime to do a little reflecting and planning too… for the next decade. Happy holidays!

I am so happy to have spun this beautiful wool. Is is now ready to know. I have 800m. It is so hard to believe I said I would never spin. It is so satisfieing and enjoyable to do. Thank you Diana Twiss for teaching all that you have, and to my Aunty Birthe for showing me the way.

@dianatwiss is at it again! She has wrapped up her rigid heddle loom with some stunningly coordinated colours from my Easy Eco Wash line (spun in Canada with Organic Merino)! I cannot wait to see how her next piece turns out. 👉🏻 check out her feed to see her work and the piece she finished a few short weeks ago using my yarns. ❄️
My shop stock is heading off the shelves, but don’t fear I have more on the way, this time I will be dying my colourways on a worsted weight organic merino eco wash base! I am always available for custom orders so DM me your project ideas. Also I have something really exciting hitting my online shop tomorrow! Watch this Space!

Traveling in the summer means I bring spinning with me.😉 This is some lovely dyed hemp fiber that I’ve been wanting to try. I’ve mostly spun animal fibers so I’m excited to spin plant fibers as well.🌱 I tend to spin mostly on spinning wheels but I love the slowness and portability that a drop spindle offers (especially when trying something new).🌀❤️ Fiber: Dyed hemp fiber from @luckycatcrafts
