We saw @dicksonmbi TELLUS @sadlerswells_east last night and I’m still thinking about it. The score, the choreography, the dancers: every part of it was immaculate. I haven’t seen anything this wonderful on stage in years. Truly breathtaking. We came home feeling so inspired. ✨

‼️RECOMMENDED! Hey Theatre Fam, so dance artist Dickson Mbi is one of my absolute favourite choreographers, and I’m so excited he’s back with a new dance work this week: TELLUS!

Inspired by a bedtime story, this new piece explores the climate crisis and the world we’re leaving to the next generation.

I’ve put together a little carousel so you can get to know Dickson, his fascinating journey into dance, and why I think this new work is worth your attention.

Just swipe, innit! 👉

‼️And head to my link in bio because, OF COURSE, I’ve got you a juicy ticket offer: £10 tickets instead of £35!

Come onnn, babes! 🫶

📍”TELLUS” is at Sadler’s Wells East from 21 to 24 October

Dear Friends,

I would like to share TELLUS with you!

It’s our latest work at Dickson Mbi Company, opening at Sadlers Wells East this Wednesday 21st October, running for four nights.

What to say… it’s been a long journey to get to this moment, from meeting Dickson at London Contemporary Dance School, to dancing Its Between Us at Masdanza in 2016, to Enowate, Twice Born, and all the various projects along the way. We have been dancing and working creatively for 10 years.

Now with TELLUS we’ve gathered a company of 9 brilliant dancers, sharing with them what we do! Not only dancing, but laughing together, connecting to the worlds, and feelings we create. This time as Dickson said ~ no compromises, the way we want it, as he envisions. We cannot wait to share it with YOU.

Shoutout to the brilliant dancers!

@jonadette_ @nathanrgoodman @mon_jonas @37justharvey @hannahpjoseph @moses.m.o.ward @siyu.lu0106 @fukistar @robertdgyimah

We are grateful, it’s going to be an electric, and moving week of dance.

Please share with your friends and anyone who might enjoy an epic and empowering journey to save our Mother Earth, accompanied by live music that will get your head nodding and stir up your feelings!

From a lullaby to a call that can’t be ignored. 🎶

Dickson Mbi’s original score for TELLUS moves through African vocals, Chinese percussion, gentle lullabies and stirring chants, carrying us deeper into a story of land, ancestry and belonging.

One week until this emotionally charged new work arrives at Sadler’s Wells.
