The way I create starts with the way I see life.

I’ve always been drawn to the details: how a piece of clothing drapes, how hair moves, how a shape can transform an entire look. I find inspiration in everyday life, and those ideas often follow me behind the chair.

Over the years, I’ve learned to trust my eye, experiment, and feel comfortable expressing who I am. My style has evolved with me, through every experience and everything I continue to learn.

For me, taking time for my own style is another way to enjoy what I do. I spend my days helping others find a look that makes them feel confident, and I like giving myself that same space.

This is part of who I am, too: someone who enjoys going out, discovering new places, and finding inspiration beyond the salon.

THE WOLF CUT — IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SHAPE. ✂️

A great wolf cut isn’t just about creating layers and texture. It’s about understanding shape, balance, proportions, and how the haircut complements the individual.

For this look, I focused on building a strong, square silhouette, carefully designing each layer to create a seamless flow while maintaining structure and movement.

The curtain fringe was tailored to frame his cheekbones, bringing balance and definition to his facial features.

Through the nape, I strategically maintained length and weight to create the illusion of a stronger, more defined jawline while visually balancing his naturally longer neck.

Every section, every angle, and every layer serves a purpose.

That’s the difference between simply cutting hair and designing a haircut.

Men’s long hair deserves the same precision, technical understanding, and attention to detail as any other haircut.

Starting out as a barber? Don’t just chase the most powerful clipper.

The JRL Ghost clipper and trimmer combo is the one I’d recommend for beginners. The battery life with the LED screen means it won’t die on you mid haircut, and the lever lock technology with the extended lever helps you set your guideline, know your measurements, and build a system without the guesswork.

Speed isn’t everything. What’s important is control.

Want to try it? Head to JRL’s website and use code VIC for a discount. #jrlusa #barbereducation #ctbarber #barber

I almost opened Elevate Style Lounge way too early.

Before I signed my lease, I asked myself one question: can I actually build a business out of this, or just a place to cut hair?
So I sat down and learned every number. And I made sure that the moment a barber joins the team, they know what it takes to run a career, not just a chair.
Here’s what I did before opening:
1. Knew every number before I signed my lease.
2. Priced out the stations and everything it would cost to open.
3. Planned for the website and overhead, so the shop could cover itself.
4. Made sure every barber who joins understands their taxes and their retirement.
5. Built a culture first.
I wasn’t trying to just open a shop. I wanted to create a culture.
That’s my foundation, and that’s why I opened my doors.
If you’re thinking about opening your own shop, save this and send it to a barber who needs to hear it.

I used to think success was just about how far you could go in your career.

The older I get, the more I realize it’s also about everything you build along the way.

The people you love. The family you come home to. The business you keep building. The clients who trust you. The opportunities to teach, learn, travel, and keep becoming a better version of yourself.

I’m grateful for the barber industry and everything it has brought into my life, but even more grateful for the people I get to share this life with.
Still building. Still learning. Still hungry for more.
But also learning to slow down for a moment and appreciate how far we’ve already come.

What does a life you’re proud of look like to you?

Style is a language. And I’m grateful for every chapter of my story.

Grateful for life, for the opportunities, for the people I’ve met along the way, and for every experience that has brought me to where I am today.

Over time, I’ve learned that nothing happens overnight. Every goal requires discipline, consistency, sacrifice, and most importantly, believing in what you’re building even when no one else can see it yet.

I’ve changed, I’ve grown, I’ve learned, and I’m still evolving. And I believe that’s reflected in my style too. Fashion has always been another form of self-expression for me—a way to show who you are, how you feel, and where you’re headed without having to say too much.

Today, I look back with gratitude, but I keep looking forward with the hunger to grow, create, and reach places I once only imagined.

Still learning. Still creating. Still evolving.
And above all, grateful for every part of the journey.
The best is still ahead.

My work has always been an extension of who I am.

Over the years, I’ve developed my own way of cutting, my style, my image, and the way I see barbering. For me, it’s not just about creating a clean fade or a great haircut… it’s about creating a complete look with intention that represents the person sitting in my chair.

And part of being able to execute my work at the level I want is knowing my tools and understanding exactly when and why to use them.

For this cut, I’m working with @jrlusa tools to get the precision, control, and finish I’m looking for.

I’m going to start showing you more of my process — what I’m using, how I’m using it, and why I choose certain tools for different techniques.

Because a great tool doesn’t replace technique… but in the right hands, it can help take it to another level. 💈

If you see any JRL tools I’m using and want to add them to your setup, use my

Where are you following from, and what tool do you to see me use or break down in the next reel?

Big shoutout to @oneshothairawards 🏆🔥

Not only for creating an incredible platform for artists, but for bringing together some of the most inspiring talent in our industry.

Seeing what everyone creates keeps me fueled. It gives me that itch to keep pushing, learning, creating, and getting better—not just for the competition, but for myself and every client who sits in my chair.

That’s what I love about competing.

Win or lose, the process forces you to bring out another level of yourself as an artist. You experiment. You take risks. You sharpen your eye. You raise your standards.

And that growth doesn’t stop at the competition—it comes right back into the salon, into our businesses, and ultimately to our clients.

Competition brings out the best in us. 🏆

Grateful for @oneshothairawards and every artist who continues to inspire me to LEVEL UP. 📸✂️🔥 shout out to my wife @jbh.studios for always crushing the videos!
