🎉Happy RD Day to the dietitians who… say “it depends,” go down research rabbit holes, celebrate the smallest wins, challenge weight bias, and somehow talk about poop on a regular basis 💩 This profession is so much more than what people think it is! If you’re a dietitian, I hope you feel seen in at least one of these. 😘 If you know a dietitian, tag them or send this their way 💛 #dietitians #dietitiansofinstagram #dietitianapproved #dietitianday #rd2be

Is your toddler turning up their nose at crunchy foods… or refusing anything too soft? That’s totally normal! Many little ones go through phases of preferring specific textures. Here’s how you can help: 👉 Offer a mix of textures at each meal with no pressure, just exposure! ✨ Try these ideas: 🍞 Soft bread vs. crunchy crackers 🍎 Applesauce vs. sliced apples 🥑 Smashed vs. sliced avocado 🍦 Greek yogurt vs. yogurt tubes 🔁 Repeated, pressure-free exposure helps toddlers build confidence and expand their comfort zone. 💡 Pro tip: Pair familiar textures with new ones on the same plate. 💬 What textures does your toddler prefer lately: soft, crunchy, or a bit of both? #FirstStepNutrition #PickyEaters #ToddlerFeeding #TextureAversions #BLW #StartingSolids #FeedingTips #RDApproved #BabyLedWeaning #YEGdietitian

Happy Easter Weekend! Celebrate while including your little one in brunch plans 🌷🐣💛 Celebrating Easter with a baby-led weaning–friendly brunch? Here’s a simple plate that supports self-feeding and introduces a variety of textures and nutrients: 🥚 Soft scrambled eggs: packed with protein, iron, and choline for brain development. 🥑 Avocado slices: rich in healthy fats to support growth. 🍞 Hot cross buns: lightly toasted and buttered, cut into strips for easy grasping (watch for added sugar). 🍌 Banana slices: naturally sweet and soft, great for practicing chewing with gums. #BabyLedWeaning #EasterBrunchForBaby #FirstEaster #BLWMeals #HotCrossBuns #BabyNutrition #FirstStepNutrition

Yesterday I spent the afternoon doing the Around the World Food Tour exploring locally owned and operated restaurants and grocery stores with mostly dietitians and a few locals. Located along International Avenue in Forest Lawn, it is literally a hop, skip and a jump from anywhere in Calgary. We explored cuisines from Phillipines, Hong Kong, India, Caribbean, Egypt, Germany and of course, Mexico: -Pacific Hut International Hong Kong grocery Illichmans deli and meat shop Caribbean Mayfair Foods Bread and Rusk Egyptian bakery Brar  Taco Libre Businesses were family-owned and operated with unique ingredients and traditional recipes. All stops were phenomenal, I will be going back! Thanks to @dietitian.directory for organizing such a cool event. #calgary #nutritionmonth

Nourish to Flourish: From a Pediatric RD’s Perspective on Picky Eaters! 🤓 As a dietitian working with picky eaters, I’ve seen it all—toddlers turning their noses up at meat, refusing new foods, and parents feeling stuck. But here’s the thing: meat isn’t the only way to get protein into your child’s diet! I love showing parents how plant-based proteins can support healthy growth and development. For example, a day with, peanut butter, tofu, beans and quinoa gives 18g of protein alone. When we focus on variety and balance, your toddler can nourish their body and flourish as they grow, without stress or struggle. Head to my profile for more FREE Picky Eater resources 💚 #NourishToFlourish #RDTips #PickyEaters #PlantBasedProtein Do your little ones eat meat? ⬇️
